FBC Carthage E-News
June 22, 2020
Good Morning,
Happy Father’s Day to all
the dads. Being a father is a tremendous
blessing and an awesome responsibility. Men,
let us pray for one another as we lead our families into a deeper walk with
Jesus Christ. We see in our nation the
devastation of families and society, in general, without connected, active
fathers. Dad, you are of great value in
your children’s lives. May we see a
revival in the hearts and lives of our fathers.
Here is our tribute video to fathers from yesterday: https://www.facebook.com/tim.frank.779/videos/10164033471775651/UzpfSTE1NDU2MDU5NDc0OTA2MToxMzYzODAxODYzODI0OTIy/?eid=ARDljeW6s_ab90bfeNa6qmI62dnRobiy44pSl8kc6eBW7Xa_W0PtDqw-RQXxoFVOvSggZ23AH6AQ4Y7E
Phase 2 of our
Re-Gathering has begun as we re-started Preschool care for babies through 4
year olds during the morning worship services.
Thank you to the Preschool Leadership Task Force as they have
established guidelines, enlisted workers, and began caring for our
children. If you would like to be a part
this important ministry, please contact Kathy Reece, Elizabeth Davis, Rhonda
Etheridge, Kristen Sanders, Matthew Lynn or Bro. Matt. I have included the Preschool guidelines at
the end of this E-News. Here is the
introductory video showing the check-in and pick-up procedures: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2FBQjxAZgf0&feature=youtu.be
I remind you that Sunday
morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night services are open for in-person
attendance. We will continue to sit with
the same social distancing plan used in all of the services. Sunday morning services are offered at 9:00
and 10:45 AM. Sunday night begins at 6:00
PM and Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM. We
also continue to Live Stream the services at the fbcarthage Youtube Channel and
the First Baptist Church Carthage Facebook page.
I hope you are enjoying the Children’s Virtual
Adventure Bible Club with your children and grandchildren. Matthew Lynn is doing a great job as our
Summer Children’s Intern to have the Bible study and weekly adventures with the
children. Here is the link to last
week’s adventure: https://www.facebook.com/childrensvirtualadventureclub/videos/256718642256626/UzpfSTE1NDU2MDU5NDc0OTA2MToxMzU5NjYxMDY3NTcyMzM1/?eid=ARDljeW6s_ab90bfeNa6qmI62dnRobiy44pSl8kc6eBW7Xa_W0PtDqw-RQXxoFVOvSggZ23AH6AQ4Y7E
This Summer we are
collecting items for three local mission efforts. The first collection of canned goods and
non-perishables for the Smith County Help Center ended this Sunday. Our next collection of diapers and wipes for
the Smith County Pregnancy Help Center begins June 28. Bring your donations and drop them off in the
containers provided in the church foyer and Connection Point.
Just a reminder, the summer
ministry/mission T-Shirts are available in the Connection Point.
An excellent opportunity
to wear your mission shirts is the Smith County Fair, June 29 thru July 4. Whether you are working the FBC Carthage
ministry booth or just attending the festivities, wear your shirts and be ready
to explain who they see (Jesus living in you!)
We still need a few people
helping in the booth each night. To
sign-up simply text “Fair” and your name to (931) 261-8452. We will contact you with details and
scheduling. Make your plans to come and
serve with us at the First Baptist Church Ministry Booth.
The RightNow Video Series of
the Week is “The Meaning of Marriage.”
This six part series explores the Biblical meaning and design of
marriage. Timothy Keller, along with Kathy, his wife of forty years,
draws a profound portrait of marriage from the pages of Scripture that neither
idealizes nor rejects the institution but points us back to the relationship
between God and man. The result is a vision for marriage that is refreshingly
frank and unsentimental, yet hopeful and beautiful. Check it out: https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/408404?episode=1
Remember, you have to
sign up to be able to view the resources at RightNow Video. Simply go to: https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Account/Invite/cfbc.
This
video resource and all the videos are provided free of charge as a gift from
FBC Carthage.
