April 6, 2020
Good Morning,
Welcome to Holy Week! I trust you are remembering this is a special
week as we remember the Lord Jesus Christ’s final week before the
crucifixion. This week is also known as
Passion Week. Bro. Matt and I are making
special videos and posting them each morning on First Baptist Church Carthage Facebook
page and fbcarthage YouTube channel, highlighting the events in Jesus’ life during
that week leading up to the Resurrection.
Listen in and reflect this week on Jesus’ Passion for you.
Here are a couple of

fee. This resource can also be given to
your friends and families during this time.
One special note, if you have an Apple TV or box you can download the
RightNow Video App and watch the videos on your TV.
The RightNow Video of
the Week is addresses the anxiety and fear we have in this present COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of fear, let’s go to God in faith and
trust Him. In this four-part series, Jonathan
Pokluda speaks words of comfort and wisdom, to help Christians navigate the
areas of life COVID-19 is affecting. During this series you'll be encouraged in
how to overcome anxiety in these troubling days and explore ways you can remain
faithful to God and to others.

·
An online
Bulletin is available on FaceBook at First Baptist Church Carthage.
·
Prepare for the
online services by having your Bible, Notebook, and Pen. Listen, participate, and worship the
Lord. Turn off all other distractions
and focus on the service.
·
Bro. Matt Davis
will serve as our Digital Pastor during the services. He will monitor comments and respond as appropriate. Please, Do not use the comments as a time to
chat. Just like talking in church during
the service, do not disrupt others by excessive comments. Bro. Matt and his wife, Elizabeth will be
available for you to call and share with during the Invitation/Decision Time at
the end of the services. We have only
two lines so you may get a busy signal or leave a message.
·
It is important
to stay in touch with one another during these days. Call, text, email, and send letters to
encourage and strengthen.
Here is a list from
the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board on “How to Get the Most from Attending
Church Online:”
·
Get out of bed and get dressed. It
will put you in the right mindset for worship.
·
Go through your normal Sunday routine, minus the “hurry up, we’re running
late” part.
·
Gather your family together.
Worship is a family activity.
·
Watch the service on your largest screen.
It will feel more like you are “there.”
·
Sing along, loud and bold. It may
feel weird but participation in worship is important.
·
Lean into the message. Open your
Bible, take notes, and say/comment “Amen” every once in a while.
·
Make your home a sanctuary to the worship of God and the exaltation of
Christ.
