FBC Carthage E-News for April 13, 2020

FBC Carthage E-News
April 13, 2020

Good Morning,

Easter 2020 was a wonderful worship experience even though we were spread across the county and throughout the world.  I appreciate all the musicians who worked hard to have a moving time of worship.  I saw many “Amen” and “Hallelujah” posts during the service.  I appreciate Bro. Matt serving in the Digital Pastor role and interacting with the comments on Facebook.  We have much to celebrate and praise the Lord.  He is risen!  He is risen indeed!

Our church leadership met by Zoom yesterday and agreed to stay in the Digital Church Community format through the end of April.  At what time Governor Lee lifts the restrictions on the number of participants meeting in gatherings, we will meet and make a decision quickly on in-person services.  The next church leadership meeting will be Sunday, April 26 at 4:00 PM by Zoom.

Continue to pray specifically for the doctors, nurses, and health care workers in the hospitals, doctor‘s offices, nursing homes and any other medical location.

The Digital Church Community services will continue to be shared each Sunday and Wednesday online continue through Facebook and YouTube.   I remind you that past services and each of the Points on the Passion videos are posted on Facebook and YouTube and can be viewed and/or shared at any time.

If you would like to communicate directly with Bro. Tim, know of needs in the congregation, or have suggestions for ways to make the online services and events more engaging, please send your thoughts to tfrank@fbccarthage.com.

The times of our regular, live, online Digital Church Community Services are:
Sunday Mornings at 10:45 AM
Sunday Evenings at 6:00 PM
Wednesday Evenings at 6:30 PM
Each service will feature a different message and updated information for the congregation.

In yesterday’s leadership meeting, Dewayne Wilmore, our Treasurer, share that the regular offerings were coming in well considering the new format.  The receipts for April are down about 20% but were coming in through the online giving, mailed in checks, and offerings brought by the church office.

I encourage you to be faithful in your giving.  If you haven’t tried the new online giving option you may want to give it a try.  One option in the online giving is to set up regular offerings to come out automatically each week.  To set up your online giving, text the word “Give” to 1-615-492-8661. The reply will direct you to a site with clear instructions on how to set up your giving by credit card or debit card and complete your offering to FBCC. The church will receive your name and amount of your offering so electronic giving amounts will be included in your annual contribution statement.

You can always mail your giving in by check or bring it by the church office during the week.  Call ahead before stopping by the office to make sure someone is in.  The Church Office `is officially closed due to COVID-19 with the office and ministerial staff working from home.   The Church phone number is (615) 735-1929 and the mailing address is 409 Main Street N, Carthage, TN 37030.

Take some time each day to reach out to a neighbor, friend, church member and say “Hello.  I was thinking of you today.  Do you need anything?  Are you doing ok?”

The RightNow Video of the Week is “It Starts at Home:  Learn to Confidently Teach Your Kids about God.”  This video series on Christian Parenting helps to equip parents to develop the faith of their children. In these six sessions, we will explore biblical and tangible ways that parents—couples, single parents, blended families and grandparents—can build a legacy of faith for their children. Each Bible study session includes interviews with everyday parents talking about their own doubts, fears and desires. Gary Thomas, Matt Chandler, and Kurt and Olivia Bruner provide powerful teaching that will help you give your kids what they need to build a solid framework for lifelong faith.

Remember, you have to sign up to be able to view the resources at RightNow Video.  Simply go to: https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Account/Invite/cfbc.
This video resource and all the videos are provided free of charge as a gift from FBC Carthage.
