FBC Carthage E-News
April 20, 2020
Good Morning,
How about some good news
to start the week: Congratulations to
Bro. Matt and Elizabeth Davis in the birth of their son, Jonathan Zechariah
Davis. Pray for everyone as they come
home from the hospital today.
One of the new
opportunities that has arisen through this COVID-19 distancing is a daily
devotion I have been having online with the hospital employees. Last week I expanded that to my Facebook page
to include others. This week I will
begin sharing on the Church Facebook page each morning. These 3-5 minute devotions feature a scripture,
thought for the day, and prayer. Join me
each morning as we share together an encouraging word from the Lord.
Another online ministry is
the Sunday School lessons. Here are the
lessons from yesterday, April 19. Simply
click on the link and watch. I am
leading the Bible Studies for Life and Pastor Travis Biller is sharing the
Bible Book Study.

A third new ministry that
is available is a 24 hour/7 day a week Prayer Line. This prayer line is open and available to you
through the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board.
If you would like to pray with someone, 24/7, simply call (844)
600-8262. Try it today.
I ask and encourage you to
pray specifically for the doctors, nurses, and health care workers in the
hospitals, doctor‘s offices, nursing homes and any other medical location.
This is an important week
in the life and future of our county, state, and nation. Our elected officials from the local Mayors,
to the Governor, to the President are determining a timeline and plan of
getting back to work and opening up all that has been closed, including the
church in-person services. It may still
be a while before all is open but prayerfully we are beginning to move in that
direction. Pray for those who are making
such important decisions.
Even after we get back to
in-person services, our Digital Church Community services will continue to be
shared each Sunday and Wednesday online through Facebook and YouTube. Past services and special posts are always
available on Facebook and YouTube and can be viewed and/or shared at any time.
If you would like to
communicate directly with Bro. Tim, know of needs in the congregation, or have
suggestions for ways to make the online services and events more engaging,
please send your thoughts to tfrank@fbccarthage.com.
The times of our regular, live,
online Digital Church Community Services are:
Sunday Mornings at 10:45
AM
Sunday Evenings at 6:00 PM
Wednesday Evenings at 6:30
PM
Each service will feature
a different message and updated information for the congregation.
I encourage you to be
faithful in your giving. If you haven’t
tried the new online giving option you may want to give it a try. One option in the online giving is to set up
regular offerings to come out automatically each week. To set up your online giving, text the word
“Give” to 1-615-492-8661. The reply will direct you to a site with clear
instructions on how to set up your giving by credit card or debit card and complete
your offering to FBCC. The church will receive your name and amount of your
offering so electronic giving amounts will be included in your annual
contribution statement.
You can always mail your
giving in by check or bring it by the church office during the week. Call ahead before stopping by the office to
make sure someone is in. The Church
Office `is officially closed due to COVID-19 with the office and ministerial
staff working from home. The Church phone number is (615) 735-1929 and
the mailing address is 409 Main Street N, Carthage, TN 37030.
Take some time each day to
reach out to a neighbor, friend, church member and say “Hello. I was thinking of you today. Do you need anything? Are you doing ok?”
The RightNow Video of
the Week is “Get Out of Your Head: A
Study in Philippians” with Jennie Allen.
Are your thoughts holding you captive? Jennie Allen knows what it’s
like to swirl in a spiral of destructive thoughts, such as I’ll never
be good enough. Other people have better lives than I do. God couldn’t really
love me. But Jennie also knows we don’t have to stay stuck in toxic
thinking patterns. As she discovered, God built a way for us to escape that
downward spiral. Freedom comes when we refuse to be victims to our thoughts and
realize we have already been equipped with power from God to fight and win the
war for our minds. Check out this 1 minute trailer for the study:
