FBC Carthage E-News for October 7, 2019

FBC Carthage E-News
October 7, 2019

Good Morning,

The New York Mission Team had a wonderful experience with New City Church in Long Island City, New York as they hosted their 6th annual Fall Carnival.  We made balloon animals and painted faces for several hundred children throughout the day.  The setting was beautiful, along the James River with the Manhattan skyline in the background.  It was a perfect day for ministry and outreach to the hundreds of people who came through the booths.  There were 14 churches who came together to work with New City Church in this effort.  I am glad we could be a part of this ministry.

Pictures of this mission trip to New York City can be found on the First Baptist Church Carthage Facebook page.  Check it out.

Speaking of pictures, I remind you of the Israel Pilgrimage 2019 group on Facebook which you can request to join the group and see hundreds of pictures from the recent Israel Pilgrimage.   Simply click on https://www.facebook.com/groups/2352377214977999/

The Israel Pilgrimage group from FBC Carthage will be sharing in the Wednesday night service on October 16 at 6:30 PM.  Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

The next BIG event that is coming is our FBC Carthage Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat on Wednesday, October 30 at 5:30 PM in the Christian Life Center.  The theme this year is Princes and Princesses.  Everyone is invited to come and dress as your favorite prince or princess.  This event has been growing year by year and we expect hundreds of people to join us from the community.  Let’s welcome them and let them know that FBC Carthage is glad they have come and we would love to have them with us in services.  Everyone is needed to help with this event and present a warm welcome to everyone.  We will have many places to serve the community at our own Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat.

The RightNow Media video series of the week is “Mums Chat” with Marianne Fernandez.  She is a UK based Christian mum and Maternity Coach who has been there – recently!   This series of Mums Chat looks at 4 common challenges that mums can face during this time and offers a biblical boost as you go about your day with your busy little person.  Check out the first session entitled “Baby Brain.”  This will give all moms an encouraging, spiritual uplift to your busy and sometimes chaotic life.  Click here: https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/349608?episode=2

Here is the recommended song that goes along with this RightNow video for moms entitled, “You Say.”   Check it out:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIaT8Jl2zpI

Invite a friend to sign up for RightNow Media https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Account/Invite/cfbc.  This free resource is made possible as a gift from FBC Carthage.   Especially if you know a mom with a toddler, encourage them to sign up today and watch the featured series, “Mums Chat.”

Governor Bill Lee has called upon Tennesseans to fast and pray this Thursday, October 10 for our state and communities.  In all the challenges we face, Jesus is the answer.  Let us take an extra time this Thursday to pray for our country, our state, and our community.  Here is Governor Lee’s appeal for prayer:  https://twitter.com/GovBillLee/status/1174457619748200448

Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
