FBC Carthage E-News
September 9, 2019
Good Morning,
This is an exciting week
of preparation for the 42 people traveling with our group to Israel, September
15-24. Please pray for each one as they
prepare for this Spiritual Pilgrimage to the Holy Land and walk where Jesus
walked.
In preparation for the
trip to Israel we shared a special video resource from Right Now Media with the
group on the Gospel of Mark with teachings by Francis Chan. This is our RightNow Media video series of
the week. In this 11-part series on the
Gospel of Mark, author and speaker Francis Chan invites us to walk with him
along the ancient ways of the Master. Tracing the steps of Jesus and the Twelve
through Israel, Francis explores the major themes of the Gospel of Mark, and
asks: Are we willing to take this journey to embrace discipleship? Each video is 10-15 minutes and is filmed at a
site in the Holy Land. Check out session
#1 from the actual Jordan River: https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/289491?episode=1
If you haven’t signed
up for RightNow Media you can do so right now at https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Account/Invite/cfbc. This
free resource is made possible as a gift to you from FBC Carthage. You can invite your family and friends to
receive these videos for free as well. Sign up today!
James Dobson, Christian
author and family psychologist has a strong word on the desperate need for
fathers in the lives of their wife and children in this article. We are losing America because we are losing
the families. Take a moment to read this
article, pray, and pass it on to a family you know who needs a word of
encouragement today. Check it out: https://drjamesdobson.org/about/september-newsletter-2019
Thanks to Mark Dillon
for leading the Defeated Creek Campground Service yesterday with 11 people
present.
Congratulations to
Jacob and Jessica Lapham as they were baptized in the Cumberland River after
the morning service. Such a beautiful
day for a baptism.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
