FBC Carthage E-News
October 28, 2019

Good Morning,

Thank you for a wonderful celebration of Pastor Appreciation Sunday.  Bro. Matt and I and our families are blessed to serve at FBC Carthage.  Thank you for the encouragement, support, and kind words.  Thank you for the gift certificates to “get-away” for a little R&R.  The church-wide dinner was absolutely delicious.  The whole day was a special treat.   I feel appreciated.
Thank you.

This is the week of our FBC Carthage Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat, this Wednesday, October 30 at 5:30 PM in the Christian Life Center.  The theme this year is Princes and Princesses.  Everyone is invited to come and dress as your favorite prince or princess.  Share with your friends and neighbors and invite them to attend.  Be their host as they come and join in the fun.  This event has been growing year by year and we expect hundreds of people to join us from the community.  Let’s welcome them and let them know that FBC Carthage is glad they have come and we would love to have them with us in services.  Everyone is needed to help with this event and present a warm welcome to everyone.  We will have many places to serve the community at our own Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat.  Here is the link to this year’s promotional video to share on your Facebook and other Social Media pages:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le8Ecp02rIE

Operation Christmas Child is officially “kicked-off” and everyone is encouraged to pick up boxes in the Connection Point and fill them for this special mission effort.  Information sheets are available in the Connection Point with the boxes, explaining the specifics.  Take a box or several and fill them for the children of the world.  Our collection week will be November 18-24.    Here is a great video to help you know what can and cannot be packed.  It is very specific and will be helpful before you purchase items for the showboxes.  Check it out:  https://video.samaritanspurse.org/what-can-and-cannot-be-packed/

Bro. Matt and I will be visiting our students in two universities this week.  Please pray as we travel and share in these student’s lives this week.  The remaining College Road Trip schedule will be:
10/28    3:00 PM    UT Memphis
10/30    12 Noon     Middle Tennessee State
11/4      6:00 PM    Tennessee Tech
11/7      11:15AM   East Tennessee State

The RightNow Media video series of the week is “This Is the Day” with Tim Tebow.  These four 10 minute sessions will give you a motivation and inspiration to live each day on mission and purpose for the Lord Jesus Christ.  No matter where you find yourself, you can make the most of today. In this inspirational series, Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow shares stories from his life to illustrate what it means to seize each day for God’s glory. He challenges us to step out in courage because this is the day to act.  Filmed in New York City, this will be an uplifting part of your day.  Check it out:  https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/309541?episode=Trailer

We are still needing 2 ladies XL coats for the Immanuel House ministry.  You can bring the coats by the church office or contact Bro. Tim.

Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
