Happy Thanksgiving!

This is one of the favorite holidays for many Americans as we pause to give thanks for all the Lord has done.  Thanksgiving is a time for family, food, and football.  During the gatherings of this week, take the opportunity to share the blessings from the Lord for which you are thankful.
Here are a few of the blessings we mentioned yesterday in the morning service that you can put on your Thanksgiving List:
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks”. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
-God’s love for mankind
-Christ’s redemptive work on the cross, His glorious resurrection
-The Holy Spirit’s ministry
-Salvation through the Gospel
-Forgiveness of sin and eternal life in Jesus
-God’s Holy Word – The Bible
-God’s spiritual blessings and care
-Life Itself / Family / Provisions / Church / Answered Prayers
- God works in everything for good and His glory
-He is with us in the storms of life
-He supplies all my needs in Christ
-He is preparing a place for Believers in Heaven

We have reached the Operation Christmas Child Goal!  As of Sunday night, we had received 304 boxes!  Our church goal was 300 boxes.  Congratulations to all those who have worked so hard to see this accomplished.  Pray for these boxes as they go through the shipping process and then are delivered to children around the world.  May they each one receive the Greatest Gift, salvation and eternal life in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Take a moment to listen to this Gospel Song, “Thank You”:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-3BJrG79IA

If you happen to still have an Operation Christmas Child box to turn in, bring it to the Christian Life Center at the bottom of Fite Avenue on Monday between 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Thank You to the Hospitality Committee for a great Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday Night.  I appreciate the hard work and long hours given to make the evening so delicious.

A Special Offering was received during the Thanksgiving Dinner for a new Primary School start in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya.  A young couple at Ridgeways is looking to begin a Christian School in one of the poor slums near the church.  This is an opportunity to invest in the lives of hundreds of children through a basic education.  If you would like more information, contact Bro Tim or Stephen Russell.

The RightNow Media video series of the week is “Can a teacher talk about their faith in the classroom?”  This short two minute video addresses the issue of teachers and their faith in Jesus Christ.  In addition to the video, a 186 page book titled Reclaiming Our Schools is offered free for download from PacificJustice.org.  Check out this video at https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/333025?episode=1
