FBC Carthage E-News for July 29, 2019

FBC Carthage E-News
July 29, 2019

Good morning,

This is the final week of Summer Break for the students with their first half day later in the week.  Pray for the teachers and administrators as they begin their new school year today with In-Service training.  It is always exciting to me to begin a new year and anticipate all the blessings that will come.

This is also the time for preparation for the new church year.  The Nominating Committee and Committee on Committees will be working to enlist and prepare for the ministries of the church.

I would like to express my appreciation for Matthew Lynn, our Summer Children’s Intern who has done an outstanding job with many different ministries and outreach activities for the children.  Our final Backyard Bible Club at Clemmons Circle is this afternoon at 3:30 PM with Inflatables.  Matthew will also be bringing the Wednesday evening message this week at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary.  If you see Matthew this week, thank him for a job well done.

This coming Sunday, August 4 begins our special Fellowship Revival with the local Baptist churches in the New Salem Baptist Association.  Each service will begin at 6:30 PM.  Here is the schedule for this Fellowship Revival:
Sunday, August 4          Riddleton Baptist Church with
Bro. Tim Frank from First Baptist

Monday, August 5 First Baptist Church Carthage with
Bro. Wayne Malone from Rome Baptist

Tuesday, August 6 Rome Baptist Church with
Bro. Bill York from Riddleton Baptist

Wednesday, August 7 Smith County Ag Center with
Dr. Larry Robertson, pastor of Hilldale Baptist Church, Clarksville
Worship led by Scott Shepherd & family

In honor of a new school year beginning this week, the RightNow Media video series for this week is “So the Next Generation will Know.”  Our desire is that every boy and girl would know and follow Jesus Christ as their Lord throughout their life.  As Gen Z leaves the church in record numbers, the adults in their lives feel at a loss to stop the trend. Yet there are research-based and proven strategies that help young people both own their faith and effectively engage the world around them.  Sean McDowell, Ph.D., and Detective J. Warner Wallace have written and taught extensively on the subjects of culture, worldview, and apologetics. In So the Next Generation Will Know, McDowell and Wallace provide strategies and practical tactics from their own personal experiences to help parents, youth leaders, and Christian teachers train the next generation with the truth of the Christian worldview.  Check out this first 12 minute video in the series.  Your children’s and grandchildren’s spiritual lives may be impacted for eternity by the information you learn.  It will be worth your time.

If you haven’t signed up for RightNow Media you can do so right now at https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Account/Invite/cfbc.  This free resource is made possible as a gift to you from FBC Carthage.  You can also invite your family and friends to receive these videos.   Sign up today!

This Sunday, August 4, immediately after the morning service, we will travel to the Carthage Boat Ramp on Upper Ferry Road for a baptism.  Jamie Dance will be baptized in the Cumberland River and perhaps others.  If you have trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and haven’t been baptized, contact Bro. Tim this week (615) 735-1929 to discuss joining in this special service.

Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
