FBC Carthage E-News for August 5, 2019

FBC Carthage E-News
August 5, 2019

Good morning,

This is a special week in the lives of teachers and families as a new school year begins.  There is an excitement as the children get back to the classes.  This week we are all encouraged to pray for the students, teachers, and workers in the various schools throughout the county.  The prayer card from yesterday’s bulletin has seven areas of prayer as we begin the new year.  Remember to pray for the school listed on your card, as well as the schools directly connected to your family.  May the Lord bless our schools.

Our special Fellowship Revival is this week with the local Baptist churches in the New Salem Baptist Association.  Each service will begin at 6:30 PM.  Everyone is urged to attend these special services, especially tonight as we gather at First Baptist.  Make you plans to attend each night as we seek the renewing and reviving power of the Holy Spirit to stir in our hearts.   Here is the schedule for this week’s Fellowship Revival services:

Monday, August 5 @ First Baptist Church Carthage with
Bro. Wayne Malone from Rome Baptist

Tuesday, August 6 @ Rome Baptist Church with
Bro. Bill York from Riddleton Baptist

Wednesday, August 7 @ Smith County Ag Center with
Dr. Larry Robertson, pastor of Hilldale Baptist Church, Clarksville
Worship led by Scott Shepherd & family

In the spirit of Revival and a new football season, the RightNow Media video series for this week is “ONE (The Woodlawn Story).  In 1973, Birmingham was torn by racism and hate. God worked through the Woodlawn high school football team to unite the city and ignite a spiritual awakening. This revival was nothing short of miraculous. Could it happen again? ONE (The Woodlawn Study) features powerful scenes and exclusive footage from the movie Woodlawn to discover the answer...it only takes one person to start a revolution. What if that person is you? With teaching by Pastors Dave Stone and Dr. Tony Evans, ONE (The Woodlawn Study) prepares your heart to experience and embrace a move of God.   Check out the first video in this powerful series:  https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/186997
