FBC Carthage E-News
April 29, 2019
Good Morning,
Today begins an exciting
week for the Frank family. Today is our
daughter, Sara’s due date and Thursday she will go in to be induced. Thank you for your prayers for our family
during this awesome week. Watch Facebook
for pictures.
This is also the final
week leading up to our Spring Revival, May 5-8.
I remind you to be praying for and inviting your “One” to attend as Bro.
Willie McLaurin will be preaching and Bro. Jim Wilburn will be leading the
music. We will have services Sunday
morning at 10:45 AM and nightly at 6:30 PM.
A special blessing each
night will be the Revival Choir led by Bro. Jim Wilburn. This is an opportunity for you to help lead
in the worship services by being in the choir.
Bro. Jim will meet each evening with the choir at 5:45 PM to prepare for
the service. Let’s fill the choir loft
every night of the Revival. Everyone is
invited to be a part of this special choir as they lead us in worship and
praise.
There will be Preschool
Care each night of the Revival in the Nursery area. Workers are needed for this important
ministry to the children, parents and congregation. We value our children and provide the very
best care during all services. This is a
true ministry of love to the least of these.
This allows parents to worship and focus on the service. It also is a blessing to the congregation as
a whole to stay focused on the word being preached. Thank
you Preschool Workers for the ministry you provide for all of us in caring for
the children. Kathy Reece and Elizabeth
Davis do an amazing job in organizing and enlisting capable workers for this
ministry. Thank you.
Just a reminder to be
using the “40 Days Toward Revitalization” Prayer Guide this week as we pray for
our revival. There is no substitute for
prayer in revival. As we draw near to
the Lord and He will draw near to us.
We had a great group of 23
ladies attend the Women of Joy conference in Pigeon Forge. The reports I heard was it was an amazing
weekend. “The Best Ever!” Be watching for information for next year’s
trip.
One final call for
graduates. This Sunday, May 5 will be
our Graduate Recognition in the service and church-wide potluck luncheon in
honor of the graduates after the service.
Plan to bring a covered dish and stay for the luncheon. Here is a list of our 2019 graduates. Please, if there are others in our church who
are graduating and not on this list, let us know ASAP.

Here is the news for the
week:
·
We have received $7,779.50 for the Annie Armstrong Offering for North
American Missions. The offering will be
open another week or so to allow you to give.
Let’s give just a little more and
reach $8,000.
·
The Deacons will meet Sunday, May 5 immediately following the Revival
service.
·
The May Bible Pathways booklets are in for you to continue your “Reading
the Bible through in 2019.” Even if you
have missed part of the year, pick up a copy and start the journey. A great discipline for every Believer is
daily, systematic Bible reading. Bible
Pathway gives a daily path to reading. Pick up your copy in the Connection Point or
Front Foyer.
·
Sunday, May 12 is Mother’s Day and we will have a special Baby Dedication
in the morning service. If you would
like to be a part of this service and have your baby dedicated, contact Audrey
Russell or call the church office at (615) 735-1929. We will also have a special gift for all
ladies in the service that day.
·
The Women on
Missions will meet on Monday, May 13 at the home of Jo Lolly 1303 Brooks Bend Lane. The bus will be leaving church parking lot at
6 pm. All ladies are invited to
attend.
·
The Young at Heart group will be traveling to Cades Cove and the Great
Smoky Mountains on Tuesday, May 14. We
will leave from the church parking lot at 9:00 AM and return around 6:30 PM.
·
The Summer emphasis shirts are in and can be picked up in the Connection
Point. These t-shirts are provided for
you to wear on the special events of the Summer and when you are out and about
in the community. The theme is “The
Church Has Left the Building” and highlights Mark 16:15 which says “Go into all
the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.” Enjoy sharing the message of the Gospel this
Summer through conversations about your shirt.
·
We are planning a Community Block Party on Sunday, May 19 from 5-7 PM in
the parking lot across from the church.
We will have inflatables, cotton candy, sno-cones, hot dogs, and
drinks. Invite friends to join us for
this fun-filled evening keeping with the Summer theme, “The Church has Left the
Building.” Be sure and wear your Summer
theme t-shirt.
