FBC Carthage E-News
April 22, 2019
Good Morning,
Yesterday was a wonderful
Easter Sunday. The weather was beautiful.
The worship service was uplifting.
The attendance was amazing. It was
a wonderful day to worship our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I hope you had the opportunity to spend time
with God in prayer and thanksgiving for all the day means to you as a
Believer. The Apostle Paul has a through
teaching on the Resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15. In that chapter he makes it very clear that
without the Resurrection of Jesus Christ we would have no hope, no forgiveness,
and no salvation. Then he gives a great
word of hope and praise in vs 20 as he says, “ But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”
Jesus is risen and we have hope, forgiveness, and salvation through our
faith in Him. Hallelujah, what a Savior!
Thank you to the worship leaders, choir, children, musicians, and media
techs for an inspiring and uplifting service of praise for Easter Sunday. It was a blessing to share in this special
service. If you missed the service yesterday,
you can watch it online on the First Baptist Church Carthage Facebook
page.
Check out the Easter pictures from yesterday at #carthageeaster and post
your pictures as well. Thank you Matt
and Elizabeth for the great photo booths.
A special word of thanks
goes to those who came out the past four Monday afternoons for our Spring
Outreach emphasis. We distributed all
600 copies of the Jesus DVD, 10 cases of popcorn, and invitations to the
special events at FBC Carthage. We will
not meet as a group to go out this afternoon but we can all continue to invite
family, friends, and neighbors to the services, especially our Spring Revival,
May 5-8.
I remind you to be praying
for and inviting your “One” to attend the Spring Revival on May 5-8 with you. Bro. Willie McLaurin will be preaching and
Bro. Jim Wilburn will be leading the music.
We will have services Sunday morning at 10:45 AM and nightly at 6:30
PM. Bro. Jim will be leading a Revival
Choir each evening and everyone is invited to be a part of this special choir
as they lead us in worship and praise.
This Sunday evening, April
28 we will have a special time of prayer for the revival at 6:00 PM. We
will plan to all gather at Bro. Tim’s house, 607 Main Street N for the service
with a back-up plan of the church if it is raining or the new grandbaby is
being born.
Yesterday was a great day
to host the Defeated Creek Campground Service.
We had 16 people bundled up in blankets for the service. It is always a blessing to praise the Lord in
that outdoor service with the campers.
Just a reminder to be
using the “40 Days Toward Revitalization” Prayer Guide this week as we pray for
our upcoming revival with Bro. Willie McLaurin, May 5-8.
Pray for Joe Vining in the
death of his mom, Betty Vining in Alabama.
Her visitation and funeral service will be this Wednesday, April
24.
Please be praying for me
and family in the coming two weeks as we await the birth of our second granddaughter. Chase, Sara, and Carolina were with us
yesterday for the Easter service and are ready for the new baby to be born.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
