FBC Carthage E-News
January 7, 2019
Good Morning,
I want to personally thank
you for your prayers and concern for Fran and I during this past couple of
weeks. She was able to come home on Thursday
after 9 days in the hospital. It has
been a challenging time for us as we walked through this illness and I appreciate
the support and care we have received from our church family. We still have follow-up, tests, and medical procedures
before this is all resolved but I believe we are moving in a positive and healthful
direction. Please keep us in your
prayers as we walk this journey to good health.
We had a great interest
meeting yesterday for our African partnership with Ridgeways Baptist Church in
Nairobi, Kenya. We will be finalizing
dates with Pastor Wanje this week and hope to have more details next week for
the E-News. If you are interested in
being a part of this initial trip in the partnership, send me an email to tfrank@fbccarthage.com.
We had a wonderful
response during the Invitation yesterday with four people coming for
membership. Alyssa Pride came making her
profession of faith and desiring to follow in baptism. Kendra Belcher came on statement of her
faith. Chris and Marissa Young came on
transfer of their letter. What a
wonderful beginning to 2019! Pray for
these new members and many others who will become an active part of FBC
Carthage during this year.
The Winter/Spring Semester of AWANA began last night with a
great attendance and many new members.
It is exciting to see the new faces and the anticipation in the children
as they attended. This is the year to
have your child in AWANA; learning Bible verses, studying the scriptures,
sharing a delicious meal, and having fun. AWANA is each Sunday at 5:30 PM in
the Christian Life Center for children and youth from preschool through high
school. Also, remember the adult Sunday
evening worship services are at 6:00 PM each Sunday evening in the Sanctuary
and dismiss in time to pick up your children in AWANA.
Due to Fran’s
illness and recent hospitalization we will not be going on our trip to Israel
this week. We are disappointed but we
are planning toward the church-wide trip, September 15-24, 2019. The details, price, itinerary, and
registration are all located at www.go-yael.com/sep2019/. Use the password sep to
register and/or check out the information. I hope you will prayerfully consider being a
part of this trip of a lifetime as we walk where Jesus walked.
I appreciate Matthew Lynn
sharing in the morning service and bringing the message in the evening service
yesterday. The college years are very powerful in shaping our young adults. Pray for
the Lord to use this semester to draw our college students closer to Him as
they begin their classes in the next week or two.
Happy New Year!
Bro. Tim
