FBC Carthage E-News
November 12, 2018
Good Morning,
This week the annual
meeting of the Tennessee Baptist Convention will be meeting in Jackson,
Tennessee. Bro. Matt, Bro. Marty and
Sheila Dodge, and I will be attending.
In addition to inspiring messages and moving reports of the various
ministry agencies, we will transact the business for the Convention. Pray for a productive and God-honoring
meeting. If you would like to watch any
of the sessions you can live stream them at https://www.tnbaptist.org/summit2018.
Bro. Brad Tackett will be
bringing the Wednesday evening message this week. I plan to be back from the Convention which
ends Wednesday at noon. I appreciate
Bro. Brad sharing in this service and covering just in case we get caught in
traffic. Plan to attend the service at
6:30 PM.
It’s not too late to get
your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes in this week. We are the area receiving points and there
will be churches and individuals bringing boxes to the Christian Life Center
all week long. Prepare your boxes and
bring them this week.
Your coats are needed for
our mission trip to New York City as we distribute them in the city-wide “Coats
for the City” distribution on December 1.
Please bring coats for this Sunday and/or next, November 11 and 18. A group of men will be giving up their shopping
day and driving them to NYC the Friday after Thanksgiving. Please bring new or used coats of any size,
children, youth, or adults and place them in the collection box in the
Connection Point. For more information
you can contact Bro. Tim or Bro. Matt at (615) 735-1929.
We will continue receiving
the special offering for Thanksgiving boxes this Sunday, November 18 in the Sunday
School classes. We will distribute the
baskets on Wednesday, November 21. If
you have names of people needing a food box see Bro. Tim, Barbara Maxwell, or
call the church office at (615) 735-1929.
Our annual Church-wide Thanksgiving
dinner will be this Sunday, November 18 at 5:00 PM in the Christian Life Center. The turkey, dressing, bread and drinks will
be provided by the church. Please bring salads, vegetable dishes and desserts and
join your church family as we give thanks.
The plan for the week is
for the steeple to be replaced! Be
watching for all the excitement around the church.
We welcome Glenn and
Debbie Drennen to FBC Carthage on the transfer of their church letter.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
