FBC Carthage E-News
October 8, 2018
Good Morning,
Yesterday was a great
start to the new church year. We rejoice
with Reece Wilkerson in his baptism and last night at AWANA one of the girls
told me she had prayed with her parents and brother to receive Jesus. I praise God for this season of salvations and
baptisms. May we be very intentional in
training these new believers in the Christian faith through Sunday School,
AWANA, worship services, and all the activities of the church.
I encourage you to share
and pass along the message and testimony from yesterday’s morning service. Josh Gibbs shared his testimony of how God
has transformed his life. Someone you
know needs that word of encouragement.
Go to the First Baptist Church Carthage Facebook page and watch/share
the posting. We look forward to this
coming Sunday as Michael Collins shares how God has worked in his life.
Thank you to those who
helped in the Homecoming Parade Block Party.
It was a greatest success yet for the block parties. Let us continue to look for creative ways to exalt
Christ in our community as we establish connections through our expressions of
compassion.
One way we are looking to
express compassion is through the “Coats for the City” mission trip to New York
City, November 29-December 3. We are
collecting coats in the Connection Point and these coats can be new or used
coats of any size, children and adults. Simply
bring your coats to the Connection Point and place in the boxes provided. For more information you can contact Bro. Tim
or Bro. Matt at (615) 735-1929.
Bro. Matt and I are making
visits to our college students over the next few weeks. This is always an enjoyable time as we take
them out for a meal and catch-up on how their college experience is going. Pray for our college and university students
as they live out their faith on the campus.
This week we will be visiting students at Cumberland, Vol State, and
Tennessee Tech. For more information
call the church office at (615) 735-1929.
Speaking of living out
faith on campus, here is a video we shared in the morning service highlighting
the work of the Baptist Collegiate Ministries or BCM. Students, check out this vibrant ministry on
your campus: https://vimeo.com/album/5283526/video/278710262
The special offering given
last week for Disaster Relief and State Missions was $6,822.10.
Be praying this week for
Anna Maxwell and Blake Tongate as they are married on Saturday, October
13.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
