FBC Carthage E-News for September 23, 2018

FBC Carthage E-News
September 23, 2018

Good Morning,

Last week was a wonderful time of fellowship with other believers from the churches in Smith County as we worshipped and heard the word proclaimed.  Thanks to all those who participated and served in the Tent Revival at Crump Paris Park.

This Saturday, September 29 is a special community outreach for our church during the William Walton Day festival in downtown Carthage.  We will have the MAIN ATTRACTION for children, the inflatables.  Volunteers are needed in monitoring the inflatables, talking to the families, and representing the church.  We will have three main shifts 9:00 - 11:00 AM; 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, and 1:00 – 3:00 PM.   Wear your mission shirt and come be a part of our outreach to the community this Saturday.  Let me know what time you would like to serve.  We will also be distributing information about the FBC Carthage Trunk or Treat Fall Festival which is coming up on Wednesday, October 24.

This Tuesday, September 25, the GriefShare study will be dealing with regrets, “If only’s…” and “What if’s…” that often haunt the grieving person and make the journey so painful.  If you are struggling with these feelings or you know someone who is, come to this support group that meets on Tueesday, 6:00 PM at the Chamber of Commerce building on Upper Ferry Road.  You don’t have to walk through grief alone.

We will be collecting coats through November to carry to New York Cite and distribute as part of New City Church’s “Coats for the City.”  These can be new or used coats of any size, children and adults.  You can bring your coats to the Connection Point and place in the boxes provided.  There is still time for you to be a part of the New York Mission Team, November 29-December 2.  For more information you can contact Bro. Tim or Bro. Matt at (615) 735-1929.

We welcome and rejoice with Montana Robertson on her profession of faith in yesterday’s service.  We will plan baptism this Sunday, September 30.  If you have trusted Jesus as Savior but never followed Him obediently in baptism, contact me this week and we will make plans for you.

Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
