Happy Fall Break,
This is a vacation week
for the local schools and many families are enjoying time together. From
pictures on Facebook, it looks like half of Smith County went to the beach for
Fall Break. There are many blessings
that come from family vacations and time spent together. Even if you didn’t travel away for the week,
take some time to spend with your children and grandchildren. The two main priorities of life are a person’s
relationship to the Lord Jesus Christ and his or her relationship to
family. Make this a special week with
your family.
Pray for our Church
Custodian, Van Fields, his son James, and their family this week in the death
of his wife Tracey. The family will have
a time of visitation on Tuesday, October 16 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Sanderson
Funeral Home and on Wednesday, October 17 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM at the
funeral home. Let’s reach out and
comfort Van and James during this week of sorrow and grief.
Judge Michael Collins
shared a moving testimony in the Sunday morning service and I encourage you to share
it with your friends. Michael shared his
journey of losing his mother at an early age and the challenges he faced. He also shared the hope and strength that he
has grown to have through his faith in Jesus.
Someone you know may need a word of hope in the midst of their grief
journey. You can find the service at the
First Baptist Church Carthage Facebook page.
Watch it and share it on your page.
This Sunday we look forward to Kandra Preston sharing of her life
transformation through Christ and her work toward re-starting a women’s shelter
in Carthage for those in similar situations as she once found herself.
Remember to bring your
coats to the Connection Point for the “Coats for the City” mission trip to New
York City, November 29-December 3. These
coats can be new or used coats of any size, children, youth, or adults. There is a collection box in the Connection
Point for your donations. For more
information you can contact Bro. Tim or Bro. Matt at (615) 735-1929.
Bro. Matt and I had three
great visits last week with college students from Tennessee Tech, Vol State,
Cumberland University, and Trevecca University.
We have a great group of college students. Pray for our college and university students
as they live out their faith on the campuses across our state.
We are excited to have
Lucy Collins make her profession of faith in the morning service. We will share in her baptism on Sunday,
October 28. Be praying for Lucy and all
those who have professed their faith in Jesus recently.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
