FBC Carthage E-News for October 9, 2017

FBC Carthage E-News
October 9, 2017

The Camp Meeting Fall Revival was a wonderful week of preaching, singing, and fellowship together.  The Lord used the services to touch my heart and I trust He did the same for you.  I was moved to tears in the worship as the Shepherd Family lead us in such a powerful way.  Thank you to all those who served in the nursery, sound, kitchen, and other areas during the week.  It was a blessing.

I would like to hear your thoughts and evaluation of the Camp Meeting format, having different preachers for each service.  You can send your observations to tfrank@fbccarthage.com.  Also, send me names of persons you would like for us to invite to a similar event in the future.

The Camp Meeting services are on the First Baptist Church Carthage Facebook page.  As of this morning we have had 4,395 views of the five services.  I heard from Pastor Elijah Wanje, Pastor of Ridgeways Baptist Church in Nairobi, Kenya who watched one of the services.  We also received an offering from someone who was moved by the services and wanted to give toward the Camp Meeting.   If you missed any of the Camp Meeting services you can watch them on our church Facebook page.

During the service yesterday, I shared several new emphases for the 2017-18 church year.  The BIG one is our 5 main objectives we will be working toward as we move into the future.  The #1 Objective for First Baptist Church Carthage will be: To see 25 persons saved, baptized, and set on the road to discipleship each year by September 30, 2025.  For this year, the goal is 18 persons saved, baptized, and set on the road to discipleship.  As a part of this objective, I am asking every member to PRAY 4:29.  Here’s how it works, at 4:29 AM or PM, take a moment and pray Acts 4:29 which says, “ Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word.”  This new church year can be our greatest year ever in seeing people come to Jesus.

To help us all be better equipped and trained in sharing Jesus with others an online class is being offered called “Sharing Jesus without Freaking Out.”  We will provide a study book by that name and each week you simply read a chapter and watch a video sent to you on Facebook.  This new format is a “study at your own pace” type of class.  There will be five discussion questions each week for you to ponder and dialogue.  You can sign up today by sending me n email, tfrank@fbccarthage.com and ask to be added to the class.

With the #1 Objective of our church being people coming to Jesus, I have set a goal for our church of having 1000 Gospel Conversations by September 30, 2018 with the people you know and come in contact with.  Each Sunday when you sign the attendance record, simply record the number of Gospel Conversations you had that week using the initials GC.  So, if you shared with 3 people in a week you would record GC3 on the attendance register.  It’s as easy as that.

The Camp Meeting Fall Revival has my heart stirred for FBC Carthage to be all we can be for the Lord Jesus Christ in this new church year.

Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
