FBC Carthage E-News for October 30, 2017

FBC Carthage E-News

October 30, 2017

Good Morning,

Thank you for the wonderful Pastor Appreciation Luncheon, the Amazon gift card, and all the expressions of appreciation for me, Bro. Matt, and our families.  It is a blessing to serve the Lord in this place and to call First Baptist Church Carthage our church family.  You have been so supportive and kind to us.  We feel appreciated.

The Fall Festival and Super Hero Trunk or Treat were a huge success.  There were well over 150 people attending the event.  Thanks to everyone who had a part in making the night so memorable.  It was AWESOME!

Yesterday officially began our Operation Christmas Child mission effort as we fill shoeboxes for children around the world.  Our church goal is 325 boxes with collection beginning November 13-20.  We will have a packing party on Wednesday, November 15 at 6:30 PM in the CLC.  Everyone is asked to join in this special effort and fill a box with the love of Jesus.  As you fill your box, no food or toothpaste this year.  Sheets and boxes are available at the Connection Point with instructions on what to pack and not to pack in the boxes.  Also, a donation of $9 per box is needed to cover shipping costs.

Tonight is the final College Road Trip dinner for Bro. Matt and I as we travel to Cookeville and have dinner at Cheddar’s Restaurant at 6:30 PM.  We have 16 students from FBC Carthage attending Tennessee Tech.  Continue to pray for all our college students as they prepare to finish this semester of studies.

Remember the PRAY 4:29 emphasis as we pray Acts 4:29 each day at 4:29 AM and/or PM. Prayer makes a difference as we ask the Lord for boldness to share His word with others around us.

Keep looking for and taking opportunities to share Gospel Presentations each week.  We had 9 reported this Sunday on the Attendance Registers which brings our total for the year to 36.  To reach our goal of 1000 in this year we need to average 20 Gospel Presentations each week.  Look for opportunities to share this week.  The 3 Circles Gospel outline is available for your smartphone.  That way you always have the outline available.  It also have a 2½ minute video presentation you could simply play and share with someone.  In your app store, search for 3 Circles or Life Conversation Guide.  It’s a free and easy to use app.  You can share the hope of Jesus with someone this week.

Congratulations to the Smith County High School football team, District Champions!  They will play at home this Friday night in the first round of the playoffs.

Just as a reminder, turn your clocks back one hour this Saturday as we leave Daylight Savings Time for the Fall and Winter months.  For example, Saturday afternoon, 3:00 PM becomes 2:00 PM and you have an extra hour just like that.  Fall Back.

Have a blessed week,

Bro. Tim
