Carthage E-News

Good
Morning,
This will be a BIG week
for FBC Carthage at the Smith County Fair, July 31-August 5! FBC Carthage is excited to host a ministry
booth each evening of the fair to minister and reachout to our community. A different Sunday School class will host the
booth each night from 5:30-8:00 PM and distribute water and sno-cones, play games,
take photos, and visit with our community.
We will also have a drawing each night for a Study Bible. This is a great week of ministry to our own
community. So, wear your “Make an IMPACT”
shirt and join us for a fun week at the fair.
For those working in the booth, come in through the back gate and tell
them you are with the FBC Carthage booth and we will take care of your
admission that evening.
Here are the classes

Please pray for the local
school teachers as they prepare this week for the new school year. The first half-day of classes is Friday,
August 4.
We have a very special day
planned the following Sunday, August 6 as we welcome Gary Bates with Creation Ministries as our guest
speaker. He will share in the Sunday
School hour with the children, youth, and adult classes on “Dinosaurs, Fossils,
and the Flood: Amazing Evidence for Creation.”
He will also be preaching in the morning service a message entitled,
“Creation not Confusion.” Plan to attend
both sessions and invite your friends to join you for these informative,
inspirational, and important messages. Here
is a video and website to introduce you to Gary and his ministry: http://creation.com/gary-bates
The Men’s Main Event
Conference was a great blessing to each man who attended. Here are a few of the notable quotes of the
weekend:
“You
can determine the root of someone’s heart by observing the fruit of the person’s
life” Robbie Gallaty
“The
Bible is a book about an all powerful God doing extraordinary things through
ordinary people.” Kurt Warner
“You
don’t go to church to be a Christian; you go to church because you are a
Christian.” Rick Burgess
“The
life I am living is merely an Internship for the life that is coming.” Russell Moore
“Go
after God like you go after baseball.”
Darryl Strawberry
“Whatever
you do, do it well for the glory of God and do it strategically for the mission
of God.” J.D. Grear
We rejoice as Bobbie Key
followed the Lord in believer’s baptism during the service yesterday and as
Jason and Kristin Johnson came forward for church membership. It is exciting as the Lord is moving in our
congregation week by week. Please pray
for the many who have made decisions for Christ this Summer. Also, pray for God’s Spirit to continue
working and drawing people to Jesus.
Congratulations to Chad
and Danyelle Troyer in the birth of their baby girl, Bailey Rose.
Have a safe and blessed
week at the fair,
Bro. Tim
