FBC Carthage E-News for July 10, 2017

FBC Carthage E-News
July 10, 2017

Good Morning,

This is a special day in the life of the Frank family.  35 years ago today, Fran and I were joined together as husband and wife.  These past three and a half decades have flown by as we have celebrated the birth of two daughters and now our granddaughter.  Wedding anniversaries are a good occasion to stop and reflect on the blessings God has given.  Looking through old picture albums, reminiscing about the fun events of life, and reflecting on the blessings God has brought your way can be good ways to remember and celebrate.  Thank you for the prayers and well wishes to me and Fran on our 35th anniversary.  It has been an exciting adventure.

It was a blessing to have James and Chao Wanje sharing in the service last night on marriage and families.  They serve the Lord through the ministry Family Life as the family consultants in Kenya.  If you missed the service you can watch it on the church Facebook page.

This coming Sunday night, July 16 will be a special evening of music and singing called “Singspiration.”  Different ones in the congregation will share in singing and playing instruments as we enjoy a night of praise to the Lord.  If you would like to share in the evening of praise please contact Steve Dowell or Jerry Wilmore.  You can also contact Bro. Matt or myself and we can get you signed up.  Maybe get together with several from your Sunday School class and sing together.  Let’s make a joyful noise unto the Lord this coming Sunday night.

In addition to the special evening of worship this Sunday, July 16 we will have a home-made ice cream supper following the service.  Bring your freezer of ice cream or a tasty treat that goes with ice cream.

The Bible Pathways reading guides have been ordered but we have not received them.  I anticipate them any day.  Sorry for the inconvenience and interruption in your reading schedule.  One way you can keep up with the readings is online at www.crosswalk.com/devotionals/biblepathways.  Another way is to read 5-6 Psalms each day.  Here is an anticipated reading schedule for this week:
          July 10        Psalms 88-93
July 11        Psalms 94-99
July 12        Psalms 100-105
July 13        Psalms  106-111
July 14        Psalms 112-118
July 15        Psalms 119
July 16        Psalms 120-125

This is the few days of collecting adult vitamins, children vitamins,  children cough suppressant, infant vitamin drops, prenatal vitamins, and ibuprofen for the mission team to Guatemala.  Please bring them to the Connection Point by this Wednesday, July 12 for the team to pack.  Pray for the mission team from our association as they travel July 21-28.

It’s almost time for the Smith County Fair, July 31-August 5.  We will organize our ministry booth again this year through our Sunday School classes.  This Sunday, classes are asked to select a night of the fair to serve.  We will have water, sno-cones, games, photos, and a lot of fun ministering and greeting the community.

Have a safe and blessed week,
Bro. Tim
