Good
Afternoon,
“Amazing
grace how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now I'm found. Was blind but now I see.”
I once was lost but now I'm found. Was blind but now I see.”
This is perhaps the most well-known hymn of our time and it
was written in 1779 by John Newton, former slave-ship captain, converted,
Christian preacher. This hymn sums up Newton’s
most famous quote in which he said, “Although
my memory's fading, I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and
Christ is a great Savior.”
During the month of March,
I want us to be focused on the wonderful, matchless, amazing grace of God by
which we have salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. In fact, I encourage every man, woman, boy
and girl to memorize our focal passage of Scripture we will be studying on Sunday
mornings, Ephesians 2:8-10 which says,
“For by grace
you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Also, during March and
April, be praying for God to do a great work at FBC Carthage during our Spring
Revival, May 7-10. Bro. Kewon Foster
will be our Evangelist and the Nesbitt Family will be leading the worship. To hear a message by Kewon Foster at Stevens
Street Baptist Church in Cookeville, go to:
https://vimeo.com/142790070
Think of family,
friends, neighbors, and co-workers you can invite to attend the Spring Revival services, May 7-10. Also, be praying for and inviting members of
FBC Carthage who have been MIA, Missing in Attendance. Revival time can be a great opportunity to
reach the lost and un-churched in our community. It is also a time to re-connect with those members
of FBC Carthage who have become inactive.
Congratulations to Matt
and Elizabeth Davis and family as they celebrate one year in Carthage. We are blessed to have Bro. Matt and his family
with us at FBC Carthage. Let them know
how much you appreciate them.

the grace of God this week,
Bro.
Tim
