First Baptist Church Carthage E-News for February 20, 2017

FBC Carthage E-News
February 20, 2017

Good Morning,

It has been an exciting few days at the Frank house as we have welcomed a new member into our family, Carolina Grace Clark.  She was born on February 17 (2-17-17) around 7:40 PM.  She weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces and was 19 ½ inches long.  It has been an exciting adventure becoming a grandparent.  Words cannot express the joy and love I feel when I am with Carolina Grace.  I am looking forward to the days, weeks, years ahead as “Grandpa Frank.”  Thank you for all the prayers and messages you have sent our way.    I was reminded this morning of the second verse of the hymn “Because He Lives” that says,
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy (s)he brings;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He (Jesus) Lives
!

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living, Just because He lives!

Just a reminder, we will be sending the special offering for hunger relief in Kenya on Wednesday of this week.  If you would like to give toward this offering bring your donation by the church office on Monday of Tuesday.  As of today, we have received $2,771.00 to be given for relief to some of the estimated 2 million Kenyans facing starvation.  Ridgeways Baptist Church in Nairobi, Kenya and their Pastor Elijah Wanje are our mission partners in this effort.  We will send our money to them to distribute as they are ministering in their country.  It is a blessing to have a generous ministry partner to join hands together in this crisis.  Here is the video from last week that gives a graphic picture of the desperate situation in Kenya:

We have had several people sign-up for Right Now Media, a new video resource the church is offering to everyone on a three month trial.  It is basically a Christian Study “Netflix” type resource that offers Marriage, Parenting, Bible Study and Christian Growth videos that you can watch for free.  There is no cost to you through the church’s subscription.  If you would like to participate simply send me an email to tfrank@fbccarthage.com with the email address you would like to use.  Right Now Media will send you the information and invitation toregister for the site.  There are over 10,000 helpful, inspiring, and informative videos to help you grow in your Christian walk.

It has been brought to my attention that a family of four in our church is in need of an inexpensive,  dependable vehicle.  If you have a vehicle you would donate or sell cheep, let me know at tfrank@fbccarthage.com.

As I prepared for the message on Sunday about the church, I was reminded of how important the church is in our lives and how much we need each other.  It is a joy to be a part of FBC Carthage and to serve as your Pastor.

Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
