FBC Carthage E-News
October 10, 2016
Good Morning,
Happy Columbus Day! This day commemorates Christopher Columbus’ discovery
of the Americas on October 12, 1492. For many it is a day off from work and a
celebration with parades and festivals in some cities. In other places it has
become a celebration of Native Americans and their culture. However
it is celebrated, Columbus Day is a memorable day in the finding of the
Americas and in the founding, almost 300 years later, of our country. Remember to thank the Lord for our country
for our nation in the weeks and months to come.
One of the great freedoms
and responsibilities we have in this nation is the freedom to vote and elect
our leaders who govern us. With a very
important election coming up in November, it is imperative that each person is
registered to vote. The deadline to
register to vote in the November election is tomorrow, October 11. You can register at the Election Commission
Office at the Turner Building. For more
information you can go online to: http://sos.tn.gov/products/elections/register-vote The
Election Day is November 8 and early voting begins on October 19.
The reservations are
coming in for our new Pictorial Directory to be made November 11&12. The reservation site is open and available
for you and your family to make your reservations. To sign-up, simply go to the church’s
website, www.fbccarthage.com and click
on the Events page and you will see the link to the Pictorial Directory
Reservations. You can also go directly
to the registration form by clicking on:
It takes less than five minutes to reserve a
photography time. It is important that
every family be included in the directory so for your participation, every
family will receive a free 8x10 photo and a free directory once completed. There will also be opportunity to purchase
additional pictures if desired. Assistance in making your reservation will be available
this Sunday in the Connection Point if you need it.
The New York mission team
is collecting coats to distribute in the city during their December 1-5
trip. A box is located I the Connection
Point for your coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. Any size is needed, especially the XL, XXL,
and XXXL.
Continue to pray for
Kenneth Reece and Brittany Mullins as they take treatments each day this
week.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
