FBC Carthage E-News
August 1, 2016
Good Morning,
This week begins a new
school year as the teachers go for in-service training and the students have
their first half-day of classes on Wednesday.
Please pray this week for our schools, teachers, administrators, and
students as they begin the new school year.
Pray for the Christian teachers that they may have a positive impact on
the lives of the boys and girls in their classes. We are blessed in Smith County to have godly
teachers who see their classroom as a ministry and seek to live for Jesus
Christ in all they say and do.
Thank you to everyone who joined
together and served the community last week through the ministry booth at the
fair. It was one of the best years yet
for this ministry. Each evening we were
able to interact with many people from our area as we served water, sno-cones,
and painted faces. Each night we gave
away a study Bible and those who won seemed genuinely excited to receive the
Bible. Thanks to Amy Broyles for her
help in decorations for the booth. A
little color goes a long way. I am
compiling a list of suggestions for next year’s booth and welcome any comments
you may have. Send your thoughts to tfrank@fbccarthage.com.
This year at the ministry
booth we had opportunity for people to share their stories of what Jesus had
done in their lives. Check out the
videos and pictures on FaceBook at Telling Your Story.
The Wednesday Night
Suppers begin again this week with the Men’s Cooking Team preparing baked
chicken, green beans, corn, cookies, and ice cream. Dinner is served from 5:00-6:00 PM. The first meal is free and then $3 per
person, $10 maximum for a family.
The New Salem Baptist
Association is in the process of preparing for a new office building. During the month of August we will receive a
special offering toward an Association Building Fund. Be praying about your part in this project.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
