FBC Carthage E-News for July 17, 2017

FBC Carthage E-News

July 18, 2016

Good Morning,

Yesterday was a blessed day all day long!  It started with the Defeated Creek Campground Service with 30 people present.  Bro. Matt brought a powerful message on sin and repentance.  Ray and Sharon Raymond led in singing with several of the campers commenting on how much they enjoyed having the accordion accompaniment.

Sunday School and the morning service were a blessing with Ron Gilbert coming forward on profession of faith and baptism.  After the service was dismissed we went to the Carthage Boat Ramp for Ron’s baptism in the river.  Pictures of the baptism are posted on the church FaceBook page.   Nothing like cold river water down my waders!

The afternoon meetings were exciting.  There are 7 persons praying about the Mission Trip to New York City on December 1-4 to distribute coats to the homeless.  The Initial AWANA Leadership Planning meeting was very productive with a follow-up meeting on Sunday, August 7 at 12:00 noon, immediately after morning worship in the Christian Life Center.  Many workers are needed as we begin another year of discipleship with the children.  AWANA begins on Sunday, August 14 at 5:30 PM in the CLC.

The evening service of singing was so much fun as we were led in worship by 12 different musical presentations.  As was playfully quoted, “More singing, less preaching.”  It is good to sing praise to the Lord!

Thanks to all who joined in all the special events of a wonderful Sunday.

Pray for Marty and Sheila Dodge and those on the mission team to Guatemala as they return to Tennessee today.  Plans are for Marty and Shelia and Anna Maxwell to share their mission adventures in the evening service this Sunday, July 24 at 6:00 PM.

Thank you for a great offering in memory of Bro. Tony Fleenor.  This will be given to his wife, Karen, to help toward the many expenses of his sickness and passing.  If you would like to give a memorial gift please bring it by the church office this week.  Bro. Tony was the Interim Pastor of FBC Carthage just prior to my coming in 2008.

Have a blessed week as you “Run the Race” of faith,

Bro. Tim
