FBC Carthage News for April 18, 2016

FBC Carthage E-News
April 18,  2016

Good Morning,

This week begins a new chapter in my life as Fran and I are officially “Empty Nesters.”  The wedding for Sara and Chase was a beautiful event on Saturday and we appreciate the prayers and thoughts for us during these past several weeks leading up to the wedding.  It was a blessing to have a great group from FBC Carthage come to Cookeville for the wedding and reception.  The planning, preparation, and prayers all came together for a memorable day for our family.  A special thanks to those who helped in loaning items, preparations, and actually setting up the reception.

For all those preparing for weddings in the coming months, here are several observations from the father of the bride:
·        Don’t get lost in the details and miss the blessing of the occasion.
·        Nobody but you knows that a tiny detail is not exactly perfect.
·        Stay calm.  Enjoy the day.
·        The wedding day goes by very quickly.  Don’t miss it.
·        At the end of the day, the main objective is the bride and groom are married!

This week is our biggest evangelistic event of the year: “Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames.”  The presentations will be Sunday night through Tuesday, April 24-26 at the Ag Center.  I hope you are planning to be a part of this Gospel presentation through drama.  There are opportunities to be in the drama with either a speaking or non-speaking role.  There will also be needs for ushers, parking, props, and decision counselors.  Script reading, casting and set-up will be on Friday, April 22 at 7:00 PM at the Ag Center.  Rehearsal will be most of the day on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, April 23-24.   This is a joint effort of the churches of the New Salem Baptist Association so let’s all join in and be a part.  I promotional video is posted on First Baptist Church Carthage FaceBook page.  Check it out and then help get the word out by sharing it on your page.  This is our effort to reach the lost in Smith County.  Let’s do all we can to share the word.

This Saturday, April 23 will be the Ground-Breaking Service for the Tennessee Baptist Convention Ministry Building in Brentwood.  Pray for Dr. Randy Davis and all the staff of the TBC as they serve the churches throughout the state of Tennessee.

May 15-18 is the date for our Spring Revival services with Bro. Jimmy Arms.  Remember this week to be praying for God to do a miracle in your life, in your home, in your family.  What is that burden you have that only God can carry and transform.  Ask him for the impossible.  Seek His solution to the challenges you face.  Knock on Heaven’s door and allow the Lord Jesus to open that door and show you His great and amazing power.  The church sanctuary will be open on Wednesday’s from 10am until church time at 6:30 PM for you to come by and pray.  This prayer time is provided for you to have a time to focus your heart and prayers to God for that miracle in your life.

Have a blessed week as you spend time with God this week in prayer,
Bro. Tim
