FBC Carthage E-News for April 25, 2016

FBC Carthage E-News
April 25, 2016

Good Morning,

Yesterday was a great start for “Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames.”  There were well over 300 people present and the room was packed.  During the invitation, there were 20 professions of faith in Jesus and 15 rededications.  35 decisions in the first night!  Wow!  This is the day to call and contact your friends and family, especially those who are lost that you are praying for and invite them to come.  Compel them to come with you.  Go by and pick them up and say, “Let’s Go!”  There are two presentations remaining, tonight and tomorrow night, April 25-26, 7:00 PM at the Ag Center.  The doors open at 6:00 PM.  Come early for a good seat.   I posted a promotional video on First Baptist Church Carthage FaceBook page.  Check it out and then help get the word out by sharing it on your page.  This is our effort to reach the lost in Smith County.  People will come if you invite them.  Let’s do all we can to share the word and see our lost friends and family come to Christ.

In the midst of this week of evangelistic emphasis, I also call on you to be praying for our Spring Revival, May 15-18 with Bro. Jimmy Arms.  Pray for God to do a miracle in your life, in your home, in your family.  Pray specifically for that burden you have that only God can carry and transform.  Ask him for the impossible.  Seek His solution to the challenges you face.  Knock on Heaven’s door and allow the Lord Jesus to open that door and show you His great and amazing power.  The church sanctuary will be open on Wednesday’s from 10am until church time at 6:30 PM for you to come by and pray.  This prayer time is provided for you to have a time to focus your heart and prayers to God for that miracle in your life.  We are also planning several home prayer meetings during the week of May 8.  If you would like to open your home for one of these prayer times please contact me and let me know.

AWANA had their final meeting for this semester last night and awarded the children who had completed their Bible memory work.  AWANA is our Discipleship program focusing on Bible memorization for our preschool and children.   Thank you to everyone of our AWANA leaders and workers who give tirelessly throughout the year to teach the boys and girls to hide God’s Word in their hearts.

Yesterday’s message was on the power of your story.  Following up with that focus, I challenge you to take some time this week and write down your story.  Think of organizing it as Paul did in Acts 26 with the following three areas:
·        My Life Before I Trusted in Christ
·        How I accepted Christ as Savior and Lord
·        The difference Christ has made in my life

To help you focus on your story, here is our theme song for the Summer emphasis, “His STORY, My Story” (Thanks Jerry Wilmore for finding this perfect song.) :  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TKAN-nAsu8&app=desktop

Have a blessed week as you invite family and friends to “Heaven’s Gates, Hell’s Flames,”
Bro. Tim
