FBC Carthage E-News
November 2, 2015
Good Morning,
I hope you are feeling the
excitement and energy from the services yesterday as we had a great beginning
for our Fall Revival with Brent Gambrell and the Nesbitt Family. Brent has a very engaging preaching style
that brings out the truths of God’s Word in a powerful way. We had a great attendance at both the morning
(Wow! The combined Morning Service
attendance was amazing!) and the evening services yesterday. Please be praying for the three remaining
services each evening this week at 6:30 PM, tonight through Wednesday. Revival services are the perfect opportunity
to invite family and friends to attend.
To help focus our invitations, each of the remaining nights has a special
focus emphasis to help involve everyone as they invite people to attend. Those emphases are:
Monday Night Family
Night
Many of us have extended family members we can invite for
this special night. Think of uncles,
aunts, cousins, etc. It is also a
perfect night to invite the family members you have on your prayer cards.
Tuesday Night Friends
Night
Invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers, school friends
to attend with you. Many of you
have High School friends that you could invite.
Be creative.
Wednesday Night Team
Night
Our
county is filled with sports teams of all sorts. You and your children are on those teams. Invite the whole team and coaches to come
with you on Wednesday Night. In fact,
wear your team jerseys and fill the church with team spirit. The idea is to do whatever it takes to bring
our friends and family to Jesus.
Continue to pray for the
Revival services and for the impact they will have on our lives, our church,
and our community. Here is a powerful
excerpt from the “Preparation Guide for Revival” I sent out last week. I have read this paper several times in my
personal prayer preparation and have found it very helpful to me. The full article is at: http://www.biblebc.com/ForPreachers/SermonVault/Revival/preparing_for_revival.htm:
Revival is:
·
A sovereign
work of God among His people (thus the prophet prays, "Revive Thy
work," Hab. 3:2).
·
It is an
invasion of fresh spiritual life when there was only deadness (Lu. 15:24),
·
It is a
turning back of God’s people unto Himself (Lam. 5:21)
·
It is an
outpouring of His Spirit upon His wilting vineyard (Isa. 32:15)
·
It is an
extraordinary work of God producing extraordinary results among both
backslidden believers, as well as dead, careless sinners.
May our prayer be, “Lord, send a great
revival in my soul.”
Have a blessed and revived week,
Bro. Tim
