FBC Carthage E-News
August 31, 2015
Good Morning,
Tonight begins the Revival
by the River at the Ag Center with services each evening at 6:30 PM through Sunday,
September 6. I will be preaching tonight
and invite you to come. Each night there
will be many churches represented and fellow believers from across Smith County. We
will dismiss our Sunday evening services to join with the Revival by the River
on September 6. Here is a listing of the
preachers and special music for each night:
Monday Tim Frank The
Nesbitt Family
Tuesday Bryan
Bratcher Right on Time
Wednesday Trey Wills Mid State Quartet
Thursday Ron Ralph Exalt Teen Choir
Friday Shane
Smith Kempville Chapel
Saturday Floyd
Massey Cornerstone Choir
Sunday Charlie
Wills Lighthouse Praise Band
This week also begins our
5th Quarter Youth Fellowships after each of the home football
games. All students in the 7th-12th
grades are invited and encouraged to attend.
There will be food and games each evening and an inspirational
speaker. This week, former SCHS
quarterback, Judge Michael Collins will be our speaker. The 5th Quarter dates will be
September 4 and 25, October 2 and 30.
Volunteers are needed and welcome to help each evening with the games,
food, and outside security.
This past Saturday we had
five persons travel to McKelvey Road Baptist Church in Cincinnati to help with
their Community Block Party and Sports Clinic.
It was good to see the people of that church again and share with their
guests. While we were there we also had
the chance to see Bro. Jason Lohorn and his family. He was the pastor at FBC Gordonsville and has
recently moved to pastor New Bethel Baptist Church in Cincinnati.
Speaking of missions, pray
for Glenda Baker as she prepares for a 4-week trip to First Baptist Church in Poplar,
Montana to help with the church’s work with the native children on Wednesdays
and Sundays. She will leave on September
8 and return on October 9. She needs our
prayers during this mission effort and our financial support as she goes. You can give through FBC Carthage, the Women
on Missions group, or this Wednesday night during the adult Prayer
Meeting. You can simply mark your gift
for Glenda Baker.
During the services we
distributed packets of the TrueLife.org cards and I encourage you to hand them
out this week to people you come in contact with. These cards are a simple way to invite
someone to come and be with us at FBC Carthage.
They also point to a great website filled with answers to biblical
questions people ask, www.truelife.org. Here is a recent video we featured last
Wednesday night answering the question ”Why Church?” https://www.truelife.org/videos/why-church
Brad Tackett will be leading
the 8:30 AM Defeated Creek Campground Service this Sunday, September 6.
There will not be an issue
of E-News next week due to vacation.
Have a blessed week as you
invite people to join us at FBC Carthage.
Bro. Tim
