FBC Carthage E-News
February 9, 2015
Happy Valentine’s Day,
This week is the week
guys. Time is counting down towards
Saturday, February 14, Valentine’s Day.
For those of us who are married, it is important to express your love to
your spouse each day, especially on Valentine’s Day. Do not take your spouse for granted. Always work on your relationship and do those
special things that let her know she is your special one.
In remembrance of
Valentine’s Day, we will have a Couple’s Dinner on Friday, February 13 at Nick’s
Restaurant in Cookeville. We have the
back room reserved and will gather at 6:15 PM.
For the meal we will order from their full menu. After we eat there will be a brief program on
love and marriage. We will be through in
plenty of time to catch a 9:00 PM movie if you want (or to be home before
9:30PM.) We will take the church bus if
you would like to ride together and plan to leave from the church parking lot
at 5:15 PM.
We had a great Initial
Planning Meeting for the Mission Montana Trip.
Right now we have 15 people who have expressed interest in being a part
of the mission team. There is plenty of
time and room for many others to join in this effort. The Mission Montana trip will be June 25-July
4. I have attached the notes from the
meeting at the end of this E-News.
Prayerfully consider this to be the year you go as a part of Mission
Montana.
In the morning service we
shared on the Passover and the connection to Jesus Christ as our Passover
Lamb. After church I received an e-mail
with the link below to a presentation from the ministry, Jews for Jesus. In this presentation there is a description
and demonstration of a Jewish Passover Feast and the connections that point to
Jesus Christ. Take a few minutes to
watch this interesting and informative video on the Passover:
Speaking of the services
yesterday, in the evening service we began a study of Paul’s letter to the
Philippians. In the first 8 verses, Paul
expresses his thankfulness for the Believers in Philippi and their friendship
to him in the fellowship of the gospel. At the end of the messages I encouraged
everyone to think of those who had made a difference in their Christian
life. The persons who told them of Jesus.
Sunday School teachers who taught them the Bible stories. Pastors who had blessed them through their
ministries. We have each been touched by
people in our Christian journey. Let
this week be the time you let those persons know you are thankful for their
influence and impact to their lives. In your quiet time, thank the Lord for
these people and ask His continued blessing on their lives as they touch others
for Christ.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
