FBC Carthage E-News for February 23, 2015

FBC Carthage E-News
February 23, 2015

Good morning,

Wow!  That’s about all I can say about last week.  I haven’t seen a week like that in many years and the damages and effects continue to be felt here and especially on the Cumberland Plateau where thousands are still without power.  It is good to see the roads clearing and be able to get back to a little taste of normal life this week.

It was great to be able to have services yesterday and to see many who were out for the first time in a week. As of right now, everything is on regular schedule for this week.

If you are having weather/winter related needs please contact the church office or someone in your Sunday School class.  This is a great time to pull together and help one another.

I remind the men of a special invitation we have received from New Middleton Baptist Church to join them for their Men’s Breakfast and Conference this Saturday, February 28 from 8:00 AM-12 Noon.  There is no charge for the breakfast and conference.  A workbook will be available of the material presented for $15.  If you would like to attend, contact Bro. Tim at 735-1929 by Wednesday so we can let them know how many to expect for breakfast.

Did you get a chance to check out the video resources available through our new partnership with www.truelife.org.  These videos and designed to answer questions you or those around you may be asking.  Take a moment and browse through the various videos and subjects covered through this ministry.

Carthage Mayor Donnie Dennis called this morning with information on the changing of the name of Project Circle to Clemons Circle, in honor of the family who were influential in the early days of the Cordell Hull Housing Authority.   One of our members has been very active in this name change and I am proud of her efforts in getting this done.  Let’s each put in the effort to remember the name change and use the new name of Clemons Circle.

We mentioned prayer for Brad Tackett last week as he had a heart catheterization.  The results were good with no blockages.  He will now have a heart valve replacement this Thursday at Vanderbilt.  Be praying for him and Melody as they prepare for this surgery and recovery.

Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
