FBC Carthage E-News
November 10, 2014
Good Morning,
It is a beautiful Fall day
in Tennessee and I hope you have a chance to enjoy it with a walk, a drive, or
as you are out and about. The Lord has
blessed us with many things and one of those blessings is the ability to
appreciate the beauty and wonder of His world. During this month, take extra
time to consider all the Lord has given for you to be thankful. Thanksgiving is to be more than just one day
of feasting and celebration. Let us
always count the many blessings God has given.
Give thanks with a grateful heart.
Thank you for everyone who
participated and supported our Fall Revival.
It was a great week of worship and challenge. I hope you sensed the presence of the Holy
Spirit and were inspired by the messages.
May this sense of revival continue throughout the year as we serve the
Lord, pray for the lost, and see people come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
This is a big week of
packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Individual shoeboxes need to be packed this
week and brought to church this coming Sunday or throughout the next week. We will have a “Shoebox Packing Party” on
Wednesday, November 12 beginning with supper at 5-6 PM in the CLC. The actual packing will begin at 6:30
PM. The supper costs and donations will
go completely to pay the shipping costs for the shoeboxes. Everyone is invited for this special night of
missions in action.
FBC Carthage will serve as
the Regional Drop-off Spot for Operation Christmas Child boxes next week,
November 17-24. Boxes can be delivered at
the CLC.
This is also a big week
for Tennessee Baptists as we have our Annual Summit Meeting at Brentwood
Baptist Church. The Convention begins
with the Pastor’s Conference today at 1PM and continues through Wednesday and
12 Noon. The highlights of the meeting
will be the report from the Vision 2021 Transition Team on Tuesday, November 11
at 2:35 PM and the Tennessee Missions and Ministries Report on Tuesday,
November 11 at 6:45 PM. This report will
cast the vision for the Five Objectives which the Convention will accomplish
along with the 3,000+ TBC churches over the next decade. You can live-stream these reports and all the
sessions online at http://new.livestream.com/tnbaptist.
Tomorrow, November 11 is
Veteran’s Day and we say to all Veterans and enlisted men and women, “Thank
You. Thank you for serving our country
and giving yourselves for the protection of our freedoms.” Do you know why we remember veterans on
November 11? Check it out in this short
video: https://skitguys.com/videos/item/the-11th-hour.
Have a blessed week as you
serve the Lord,
Bro. Tim
Here’s the news for the week:

We will also have a Packing Party on Wednesday, November
