FBC Carthage E-News
October 20, 2014
Good Morning,
The county schools are on
Fall Break this week and things seemed much quieter in town this morning. With many families away on trips to the beach
and other exciting destinations the traffic didn’t have the familiar morning build-up.
For many this will be a more relaxed
week, a fall break from the routine.
With Fall Break Week, the
youth have activities planned for almost every day:
·
Tuesday, October
21 @ 12 Noon Trip to a corn maze in Sparta and lunch.
Bring
$10 and money for lunch.
·
Wednesday,
October 22 @ 6:30 PM Bible study and
small groups in CLC
·
Thursday, October
23 @ 12 Noon Airsoft day. Bring airsoft supplies and
money
for lunch.
·
Saturday, October
25 @ 5-8PM Youth Night in the CLC
This is also a big week as
we continue to pray and prepare for our Fall Revival, November 2-5, with Brent Gambrell and Dave Hunt. Revival is already beginning to move in our
church as we had a baptism and two professions of faith yesterday in the
services. Ben Wilmore was baptized and
Cody Blackburn and Brianna Gregory made their profession of faith. Continue to pray for loved ones and friends
on your Operation Andrew list to be saved and to be with us at FBC
Carthage. Invite them to join us for the
Fall Revival special services. As one person
said yesterday, “It (Pray) really works!”
Amen! Prayer does work.
Speaking of prayer I am asking
our Adult Sunday School classes to host special cottage prayer meetings next week
in homes to pray and prepare our hearts for the revival services. The extra emphasis on prayer will help us focus
on the fact that revival and the movement of God on a congregation is in the
spiritual realm. We can organize,
invite, and plan but what we need for true revival is the Holy Spirit of God to
move in our hearts and lives.
Also, pray for the Cincinnati
Revival Team working with our partner association this week. They will conclude the services tonight and
head back tomorrow.
Last week I asked special
prayer for our church secretary, Deborah Weaver as she had surgery on
Thursday. She is home and recovering
well. Thank you to the ladies who will
be covering the phones and office duties during her recovery. Continue to pray for Deborah as she regains her strength and heals from
the surgery.
Early voting for the Fall
2014 Election is in progress now and I have fornd it to be very convenient to
vote during this early time. In fact, I
voted last Wednesday and there was no line or waiting. I was able to walk straight in, sign-in,
vote, and back out. To vote early you
simply go to the Turner Building off Spring Street and you follow the signs for
early voting. I remind you of the
importance of voting for Amendment 1. I
will include the Baptist and Reflector link again for your reference and information:
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
