FBC Carthage E-News
February 3, 2014
Good morning,
As we move into February
it is a good time to re-examine our personal growth plans and see how we are
progressing in our Christian life. How
is your daily quiet time, Bible reading and prayer time? Have you been regular in church and Sunday
School attendance through this first month of 2014? Are you watching and ready for opportunities
to minister and share the love of Jesus to others? This month can be a good time to recommit to
the goals and plan for your Christian discipleship in 2014. Just in case you have misplaced your copy of
the Disciple-Making Plan, I have included it at the end of the E-News. This is a great time for each of us to begin
and strengthen those areas of our Christian life as the Lord leads us to be
more like Jesus in 2014.
One of the areas of
discipleship is involvement in missions and we have many different ways you can
be involved in 2014. Listed below is the
updated list of mission trips and opportunities for you pray and consider being
involved:

Cookout. We have eight camping spaces
reserved at Defeated Creek Campground for July 25-27. We will also plan to have a church-wide
cookout and lake day on that Saturday, July 26 at the large Pavilion.
The 2014 Winter Olympics
begin this week and there will be a lot of excitement as the USA “goes for the
gold.” In the midst of all the sporting
events, more than 400 Southern Baptist volunteers will be in Sochi to minister
and share the gospel. Here are several
resources for you to learn about the work and use to share Jesus during the Olympics.
