FBC Carthage E-News for July 8, 2013

FBC Carthage E-News
July 8, 2013

Good Morning,

It is great to be back in Carthage after an exciting trip to Poplar, Montana.  We had 19 team members who worked in Vacation Bible School with the Native American children.  The high attendance day was the 2nd day with 152 children.  The team will share testimony and pictures this Sunday in the morning services.  Thank you for your prayers and support in this mission effort to Montana.

I want to thank Bro. Jeff Hall for preaching for me while I was in Montana.  It is a blessing to have him on staff and to have him share in the services.  I also appreciate his writing the E-News for last week and introducing a new format.  I hope you are getting to know Jeff and Kristina and their daughter, Peyton.May we be a blessing to them as they are a blessing to us.

Several mission opportunities remain during this Summer for us to LoveLOUD:
·        This Wednesday, July 10 is the monthly Mobile Food Pantry at the Ag Center.  Volunteers are needed at 11:00 AM.
·        Bro. Marty Dodge is leading a mission trip to Cincinnati to hold Vacation Bible School on July 15-19.  It is not too late to contact him and be a part of the team.  You can call him at 735-9362 for more information.
·        There are two more Backyard Bible Clubs on July 9 and 16 at Project Circle.  The Women on Mission are organizing and coordinating these local mission efforts.  The children meet in the Community Room at 4:30 PM.
·        On July 23 there will be 3 Block Parties at the Project Circle, South Carthage Housing, and the apartments in Gordonsville.  These parties will begin early and go into the afternoon at the different locations.  You can help  with the food, inflatables, etc.  The Association is also collecting  school supplies such as notebooks, paper, pencil, crayons, scissors, glue, etc. to hand out to the children.
·        The Smith County Fair will be here before we know it, July 29-August 3.  We will have a ministry booth again this year with water, face painting, and photographs.
·        Anna Maxwell will be traveling to the Dominican Republic on July 20 for a sports mission trip.

Also, we are receiving a special offering this month for Ohana Church, a new church start in Hilo, Hawaii led by Zeke and Layne Tomaselli.  They will be moving to Hilo in August to begin the work.  Here is a short information video about this new church start:
