FBC Carthage E-News
June 10, 2013
Good Morning,
Vacation Bible School is here! This is the week we have been praying toward, preparing for, and anticipating for many months. We meet this week, Monday thru Friday, June 10-14 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. There will be classes for ages 3 thru high school. All children and youth are invited for this exciting week of Bible study, crafts, music, recreation, and refreshments. I encourage everyone to call, text, email, or Facebook someone today and invite them to come tonight.
If you would like to be a helper in VBS, simply come and see Kristina Hall or Rhonda Etheridge tonight.
The van and bus are running for VBS each evening. Call the church office if you have a child who needs a ride.
We had a great start for the Backyard Bible Clubs last week at Project Circle and the Defeated Creek Campground Shelter. The Women on Missions group is coordinating FBC Carthage’s involvement. We will lead the club at Project Circle on Tuesdays, June 11, 18 and July 2, 9, 16 at 4:30 PM. I am sure Bro. Marty would be glad to have additional helpers at the Defeated Creek Campground Pavilion on Saturdays at 10:00 AM.
Mission Montana is coming quickly and we need to get our bags of toys and prizes turned in to pack. Please bring your items this Sunday and place in the tubs in the foyer or Connection Point. This is a way we all can be a part of the effort by contributing prizes for the family carnival night we will host in Poplar, Montana. We need lots of toys and small prizes that we'll give to the children as they participate in the games. Parents, we'll be collecting from the children during VBS like we did last year, so you may want to go ahead and lead your child in preparing for that giving and then have him/her wait to bring those prizes during VBS. LoveLOUD by being a part of the mission work with the Native American children in Poplar, Montana.
This coming Sunday, June 16 is Father’s Day, a day to remember and honor dad. Let us honor our Heavenly Father as we gather in worship and praise this Sunday. If you are going to see your dad for lunch, plan to come to the 8:00 AM service. Many take advantage of this early service when they have family events to attend.
On a sad note, let us remember the family that lost four members in the house fire on Saturday night. The children, Leon Richardson and Jordan Watkins were active members of AWANA and were planning to attend Vacation Bible School this week. Pray for our kids who knew them as they experience grief over the loss of a young friend. A tragedy like this touches the lives of many people in our community. They are setting up a special account for donations at Community Bank toward the many expenses that will be coming.
Pray for, invite to, and attend Vacation Bible School this week.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
