FBC Carthage E-News
July 22, 2013
Good Morning,
We had a rainy drive for
the boys going to Lighthouse Christian Camp today in Smithville. A total of 13 boys from Smith County are in camp
this week. Thank you for your
sponsorships to Lighthouse. Because you
give, these boys have the blessing of going to camp, riding horses, swimming, and
hearing about Jesus. I anticipate
several from our county will come to faith in Jesus this week.
The Smith County Fair will
be July 29-August 3. Our ministry booth at
the fair provides us with a point from which we can serve and reach out to our
community. We will have ice water, items
to distribute, face painting, balloon animals, and photographs. Last year the photos were a BIG success. We are organizing the work through Sunday
School classes and everyone is encouraged to participate. The Sunday School Class schedule is:
Monday Samantha
Upchurch’s ClassTuesday Jim Broyles’ Class
Wednesday Youth Class
Thursday Michael Collins’ Class
Friday
Saturday Brad Tackett’s Class
If you can serve one or
several nights contact Bro. Tim or Bro. Jeff at 735-1929 or simply come by the
fair booth between 5:30 and 8:30 PM.
This is a great way to share with the community this Summer.
Our children’s AWANA program
will begin a new year of studies on Sunday, August 4 at 5:30 PM in the
Christian Life Center. AWANA is our discipleship ministry to children
and youth from babies through high school.
The focus is for the boys and girls to learn and memorize God’s Word and
to bring them to a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus
Christ. Consider being a part of the
AWANA team by contacting Michael Collins.
Lives are being touched and changed for Jesus Christ through AWANA.
Bro. Marty Dodge shared a
great report from the recent mission effort to Cincinnati. There will be many other opportunities to
serve beginning with a mission block party on August 10. For more information contact Bro. Marty
Dodge.
Be praying for Zeke and
Layne Tomaselli as they prepare for their move to Hilo, Hawaii next week. This year of training and Internship in Las
Vegas has passed quickly. Also, we are
receiving a special offering for Ohana Church, their new church start in
Hawaii. This offering will remain open
for you to give toward this new work through the year. Simply designate your gift for Ohana
Church. Here is the promotional video we
have shown:

If you can help with this event, please contact Bro. Tim or Becky Mitchell. The luncheon will be at approximately 11:15 AM.
5. On Sunday, August 4 we will have a special time of prayer for our schools called “Cover Our Schools.” More details next week.
