FBC Carthage E-News for May 15, 2012

FBC Carthage E-News
May 15, 2012

Good morning from Texas,

My family and I are in San Antonio this week taking a few days to visit with our older daughter, Jill.  I appreciate Bro. Zeke and Bro. Brad covering the bases for me while I am away.  We will be back for the services Sunday.

Speaking of Sunday, this last week was a great service with Baby Dedication for Titus Russell, Noah Vincent, and Colton Ferrell.  The Lord has blessed us with great families and several new babies to love and care for.  As I said in the dedication service, we as a  church are charged with great responsibility as the Lord entrusts families and children in our care.  We are to pray for them, teach them, and show them the love of Jesus.

One of the best ways we have to teach and reach children is our Vacation Bible School.  This year promises to be a great year as we teach of our amazing, awesome God.  I have attached a current listing of VBS workers to this e-news.  Look over the list and join the team.  Our Vacation Bible School will be Sunday, June 10-Thursday, July 14 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM.

Pray for Josh Lynn and Taylor Reece today as they board an airplane for a six-week mission adventure in Kenya, Africa.  Pray for safety and God’s empowerment for their work.  This is an exciting time in their lives and in the life of our church.  God’s call of our children and young adults is a wonderful blessing.

This week we welcome Anna Maxwell as our Summer Intern.  Anna will be serving in several areas of ministry during the summer.  Pray for Anna during these ten weeks of ministry and missions.

The New York Chainsaw Team will be leaving this Sunday, May 20 for a mission trip to serve with Jim and Karen Wilburn  in Long Island, New York.  Pray for safety and a successful mission.  We will commission the team at the end of the   service this Sunday.

This Sunday, May 20 will be our opportunity to lead the Defeated Creek Campground Service at 8:30 AM at the big pavilion beside the campground.  Charlie Daigre will be leading this special service.

 Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
