Good morning,

By all indications, it is turning to spring in Tennessee. Grass is growing, trees re budding, and flowers are budding. I hear the fish are biting, but I have no first hand knowledge of that fact. This is a beautiful time of year.

With spring comes the thought of new life and revival, and next week is the Community Revival by the River. The Revival by the River will begin this coming Sunday night, March 4th at 7:00 PM at the Smith County Ag Center. Make your plans to attend and invite your neighbors, family, and friends to attend with you. Last year’s revival was a blessing and I believe this year will be as well.

One final prayer meeting will be held prior to the Revival by the River, tonight at 7:00 PM at FBC Carthage. We will host the prayer time as we seek God’s direction, power, and direction for the services. Come and join with us for this vital part of the preparation for the Revival by the River.


Speaking of prayer, this Sunday, March 4 begins our Week of Prayer for North American Missions. The theme for this year’s mission emphasis is “Whatever It Takes.” Listed below is a link to the 2012 videos and the North American Mission Board 2012 emphasis to reach the cities for Jesus Christ:

Here’s the news for the week:
1. Thank you to everyone who provided cookies, gift cards, and birthday cards for our Missionary Kid, Zach Brubaker. I believe he will be blessed through these gifts. Pray for him on his birthday, March 3.


2. We will have a Membership 101 class this Sunday morning at 9:30 AM for new and prospective members. If you have not yet attended this one session class, join us this Sunday, March 4 at 9:30 AM in the Pastor’s Office.


3. The Church Council will meet this Sunday, March 4 at 4:00 PM and the Deacons will meet at 5:00 PM.


4. AWANA will meet this Sunday, March 4 at 5:30 PM. The evening worship service will be moved to the Ag Center for the first service of the Revival by the River at 7:00 PM. The following Wednesday, March 7 services and activities will also be moved to the Ag Center for the Revival by the River at 7:00 PM.


5. Youth are reminded of the Youth Evangelism Conference (YEC) which meets on March 9-10. See Zeke for more information.


6. Our next Mission Montana planning meeting will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 4:30 PM in the classroom to the right of the Sanctuary. Plans are being made for transportation, lodging, and the work we will be doing with the First Baptist Church in Poplar.


7. If you are considering working with the First Nations Camp and Donny Coulter in Canada this summer, please contact Tim Frank.


8. A special regional “More Life” Evangelism Rally will be held on Monday, March 12 at Whorton Springs Baptist Church in Smithville. We will plan to take the bus and travel together to the meeting. Bobby Welch, author of FAITH Evangelism Training will be bringing a challenging and dynamic message during the rally.


9. Senior adults interested in traveling on Saturday, March 24 to the Cumberland County Playhouse for the “Sound of Music” need to sign-up by this Sunday, March 4. The cost is $25 per person. See Bro. Tim or Carol Wilmore.


10. Please be praying for March 6 as the Smith County School Board meets to select the next Director of Schools. This is an important position in our county and one that has a direct affect on many families in the church and community. Be praying for the members of the Board of Education as they seek the right person to lead our schools.
