FBC Carthage E-News
November 14, 2011
Good windy morning,
The wind and warm weather feel more like a spring day that November. Better enjoy it while we can.
The Fall Revival last week was a great blessing to me and to the church. The church building was filled at each of the services. The altar was filled during the invitations. Hearts were stirred and lives were changed. That’s what revival is all about. Hallelujah!
A special thank you goes to the men and ladies who made visits, phone calls, and invited people for the services. If we will ask people, they will attend.
A special thank you goes to the ladies and men who prepared the meals each night. That was a blessed time of fellowship as well as some great meals.
A special thank you goes to those who helped in the preschool care and the Revival Adventure. It was a great response.
A special thank you to Zeke, the instrumentalists, choir, praise team, and sound technicians for all your extra work in leading us in worship.
The greatest thanks and praise goes to the Lord Jesus Christ. Revival is not about a service or a crowd. Revival is about a love relationship with Jesus that is real and personal.
The revival messages are online at the church web site www.fbccarthage.com under the media tab then click listen to sermons. We also had CDs of the services but they have all been taken. Additional CDs will be available by Sunday at the Connection Point. These are form you to listen to and/or to give to others.
The Fall Revival was a great blessing. Thank you.
Bro. Tim

2. The annual church-wide Thanksgiving dinner will be this Sunday, November 20 at 5:30 PM in the Christian Life Center. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish vegetable, salad, and/or desert. The church Hospitality Committee will coordinate the turkey, dressing, bread, and drinks. Plan to join us for this great time of thanksgiving and fellowship.
3. This Sunday morning, November 20, will be the completion of “The Amazing Journey.” In January we began a trek through the Bible, beginning in Genesis and ending this week in Revelation. To those who have been reading through the Bible this year, congratulations on an amazing journey.
4. We are planning a Deer Hunter’s lunch on opening day of deer season, this Saturday, November 19 at 11:00AM in the Christian Life Center. This lunch is for hunters in the community as well as those in the church. This is a great opportunity to invite a buddy to join you for lunch. I am sure we will hear plenty of stories of the morning hunt. A short devotion will be shared and many door prizes will be given away. I need a couple pots of soup and two or three plates of sandwiches for the hunters. If you would like to help in this community outreach, please contact Tim Frank at 735-1929 or send a reply to this e-news.
5. Ladies, the Ladies Retreat at Lighthouse Christian Camp is this Friday and Saturday, November 18-19. There are still spaces for you and/or a friend to attend. Contact Lynn Sharenberger or call the church office for more information.
6. The Christmas gifts for Lighthouse Christian Camp’s Christmas parties are to be brought to the church by this Sunday, November 20. Lighthouse is expecting over 800 children for these parties, December 3 and December 10. Bring your unwrapped gift items to the Young Women’s Sunday School classroom, Room 17, just through the Sanctuary door beside the organ. There are still a few gift requests on the tree in the Connection Point. You can pick one up by coming by the church office during the day or on this Wednesday night.
