Happy Thanksgiving,
This is the time of year we are reminded to that the Lord for all He has done in our lives. As you gather with your families and friends this week, remember to give thanks for the eternal things God has given, as well as, the things we normally think of such as health, family, friends, etc.
As your Pastor, I am thankful for each of you and our fellowship at First Baptist Church Carthage. The Lord has blessed us in a great way this past year in missions, in membership, and especially through the recent revival. His presence among us is our true blessing.
Here is some Thanksgiving fun. I have posted below several videos that help focus our thoughts on Thanksgiving. They will bring a smile to your face, as well as, remind you to be thankful. Enjoy these and share them with family and friends.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Bro. Tim
Here is the news for the week:
1. Continue to be praying for Zeke’s dad, Frank Tomaselli. Zeke flew to Las Vegas last week to be with his dad during surgery. The Lord intervened and Mr. Tomaselli did not have to have the surgery and is back in his home. We thank the Lord for His healing power.
2. We will not have Wednesday night activities this week. Take this time to spend with your family.
3. Sunday, November 27 begins our celebration of Christmas 2011. The 6:00 PM evening service will be a special service called “The Hanging of the Greens”. We will sing familiar carols, focus on the story of Christmas, and decorate the Sanctuary, all in the same service.
4. Thank you for the gifts for the Lighthouse Christian Camp’s Christmas Parties. We are also receiving gifts for the Smith County Help Center Toyland for the families in our area. The Help Center Toyland will be during the week of December 5-9.
5. Next Monday, November 28 will be the annual Carthage Christmas Parade. We have enjoyed providing coffee and hot chocolate, as well as, singing carols on the steps before the parade. We will have details on Sunday.
6. Speaking of mission projects, we will be going to the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home in Franklin December 29 and 30 for a two–day mission project of painting in the cottages. A sign-up sheet will be on the table in the Connection Point this Sunday. You can go one or both of the days and be a part of this mission effort.
7. During December we will receive our annual Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions. The International Mission Board has over 5,000 missionaries throughout the countries of the world. These are our missionaries and this is our opportunity to join together and provide their support for the coming year. In our giving this year, be sure and give a gift to share the gospel of Jesus to the ends of the earth through the Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions. Here are some videos that share the mission and work of the IMB. Check it out:
