FBC Carthage E-News
August 1, 2011
Good Morning,
With area schools beginning this morning, it feels like summer has come to a close and it’s time to get back into a regular routine. I am all for that. This has been one of the best summers I can remember, however, it has been one the busiest. Busy is good. Trips are good. Mission efforts are very good. Regular schedules and time to work are also very good. There is a sense of a new start, a fresh start in my spirit today. This is going to be a great week!
Remember to pray for the teachers, administrators, and students this week as they begin a new school year. We have a great group of teachers and administrators in Smith County. Many of these are strong Christians. Pray for them as they teach, guide, and serve as role-models for the children.
We had a great response to the Teacher’s Luncheon last week. I want to say a special word of appreciation to all who helped in the preparation, serving, and clean-up.
Yesterday we recognized the work of the three summer Interns who have served these past ten weeks at FBC Carthage. Our Interns were Taylor Reece, Shawn Pinson, and Marcus McBee for your work. Thank you for a great summer. It has been a busy and face-paced. I pray you have received a blessing through serving the Lord at FBC Carthage. You have been a blessing to many.
I also want to say “Thank You” to all those who served in the ministry booth at the Smith County Fair. I appreciate the diligent work that was done each night of the fair. I would love to hear from you as to improvements, changes, and ideas you have to make the ministry booth more effective in coming years. You can e-mail your thoughts to me at tfrank@fbccarthage.com.
Congratulations to all those who participated in events at the fair. A special congratuleations to the Fairest of the Fair winners:
Sara Frank Fairest of the Fair
Ellie Vining Junior Fairest of the Fair
Grace Nixon Petite Fairest of the Fair
Have a blessed week as you serve the Lord,
Bro. Tim
Here’s the news for the week:
1. We welcome Conner Hackett as he made his profession of faith in Jesus Christ yesterday during the morning service.
2. Today begins an emphasis on the New Salem Association of Baptist. FBC Carthage is one of the ten churches and one mission which make up the Association. The Power Team
We Love Smith County Day

Pray for the work of the New Salem Association as we serve together in Smith County. A special offering will be received at the end of both services this Sunday morning for the work of our Association. Also, an Open House will be held next Sunday, August 14 from 2-4 PM at the Association office on Highway 70 East towards Lebanon. 10. Pray for the persecuted Christians around the world. I was reading an article from “Voice of the Martyrs” this morning and was convicted of my lack of prayer for brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering, imprisoned, and killed around the world for their faith in Jesus.
