FBC Carthage E-News for July 25, 2011

FBC Carthage E-News

July 25, 2011

Good Morning,

It’s hard to imagine, but this is the last week of summer break for the students of Smith County. The weeks have flown by and now its time to get back in the routine for many families. Please pray for the teachers and administrators this week as they have their in-service training and prepare for the student’s return next week. We are blessed in Smith County to have many Christian teachers in the school system. They need our prayers and encouragement.

One way we, as a church, seek to encourage the teachers is with a luncheon during their in-service training. We will have that opportunity this Wednesday, July 27, to host the teachers and administrators for lunch in the Christian Life Center. If you would like to help prepare the meal, serve, or clean-up, you can contact the church office or Melody Tackett.

Speaking of serving, this is the week of the Smith County Fair and we will once again have a ministry booth. We will have face painting, balloon animals, water, fans, and information about the church. The booth will be open from 5:30 – 8:30 each evening. If you would like to help, simply stop by the booth or you can contact Bro. Tim at the church office, 735-1929.

The Mission Montana Team gave a great report last night during the evening service. I appreciate each one who made the trip and ministered to the people of Poplar.

The Mission Hawaii Team will share their report this coming Sunday, August 31 in the 6:00 PM service.

Sunday morning’s message was on the power, point and place of sharing your story. The Christian’s testimony is an effective way to share with others what God has done in your life through Jesus Christ. Here are a few web sites that will give you additional help and examples in sharing your story:

Before the news, I would like to say a word of congratulations to all the children and youth who promoted to their new Sunday School classes yesterday. The Promotion Day Celebration was a great visual reminder to me of the importance of Sunday School and the great opportunity we have as a church to teach and train our children in the ways of the Lord. Thank you teachers for your time, effort, and love you give to the students each week.

“Keep telling the story, be faithful and true. Let others see Jesus in you.”
Bro. Tim
