FBC Carthage E-News
September 27, 2010
Good morning,
The cool air this morning makes me realize that fall has come to Tennessee. Last week we officially entered into the fall season and this morning has the feel of fall. It is a great morning to go out for a walk. It’s a great day to serve the Lord and live for Him.
The cool fall days makes me think of two things, football and deer hunting. This Friday, October 1 is the homecoming game for Smith County and another opportunity for FBC Carthage to host the 5th Quarter after the game. Help spread the word to all students in 7th-12th grades to join us immediately after the game in the Christian Life Center for food, games, and a time of inspiration.
For the deer hunters, I need your thoughts. Last year we had a Deer Hunter’s Breakfast on the opening day of rifle season and had several attend. The question I would ask is if you would favor the breakfast again at 3:30 AM or perhaps a luncheon beginning around 11:00 AM. If you have a thought you can send me an e-mail to tfrank@fbccarthage.com.
We have two mission teams preparing for their efforts beginning next week and I am asking everyone to be praying. Zeke Tomaselli will lead a team of nine people from FBC Carthage to Long Island, New York to work with Jim and Karen Wilburn. Their trip will be October 9-15. During that same time, October 6-16, Marty Dodge will be leading a smaller team of three to Wiamea, Hawaii to serve with Mark Stinnett.
Speaking of missions, we need volunteers to help this Saturday, October 2 at the Rendezvous on the Square in Carthage. FBC Carthage has been asked to help with a face-painting booth in the children’s area. If you can help for an hour or two please contact Bro. Tim or call the church office at 735-1929. The project will begin at 10:0 AM and conclude at 4:00 PM.
Last Wednesday night we distributed prayer guides to use during a special 40 days of prayer for the United States. Our nation needs Christians to pray. The link below has the prayer guides for each day of these forty days of prayer. Select at least one day to spend in prayer for America. Maybe you could pray one day each week for the next five weeks for the nation. You may also want to use the prayer guides as a basis for your prayer time each day. The main emphasis is to pray. The prayer guides are at: http://www.4040prayer.com/ . You can click on Prayer Guides or Blog for the guides.

11. Several Wednesday nights ago we heard the testimony of the missionary and volunteers to Haiti. The link below is to Ron and Karen Cockerham’s blog with details of their trip and pictures. They are a couple from Cookeville who sensed God’s leading to work with the orphanage in Haiti and are there as volunteers for three months. The world is a mission field that is open to Christians as we will step out of our comfort and follow God’s leading. Check out this blog: http://ronandkareninhaiti.blogspot.com/
