FBC Carthage E-News
August 16, 2010
Good morning,
It is great to be back in Carthage, Tennessee this morning. After three days of travel to and from California, I am glad to be home. My oldest daughter, Jill, finished a summer internship in California last week and I had the opportunity to fly out and drive her home. There is a lot of pretty scenery and traffic between here and there.
A special thanks to Zeke for bringing the message yesterday morning and to my good friends from Cookeville, Kyle and Kim Hanna for sharing in the evening service. I have several heard reports that the services went very well and I am grateful.
I also heard the Sunday School promotion went well and the children moved into their new classes. Sunday School is an very important part of our church’s strategy for reaching the community. Sunday School provides a connection point for every member of the family. Sunday School provides the means for care and compassion to people in need. Someone has said, “Sunday School is the church organized and functioning to reach the lost and develop the saved.” I encourage each person to be connected to others through a Sunday School class at 9:30 AM each week.
AWANA began a new year of Bible study, activities and fun last night. I am looking forward to this being our greatest year in AWANA. Parents, AWANA is a great discipleship opportunity for your children. They will learn and apply God’s Word. Make it a priority to bring your children each Sunday night at 5:30 PM. Then plan to stay for the evening worship service at 6:00 PM. With the new schedule, everyone dismisses at 7:00 PM.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
