FBC Carthage E-News
July 6, 2010
Good Morning,
I trust you and your family had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. In all the picnics and fireworks I hope you had a few moments to reflect on the freedoms and independence we have in the United States. We must never take those freedoms for granted. The freedom to assemble, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion are great blessings to us each week as we come to church and share our faith. Let’s remember to pray for our nation and its leaders throughout the year.
Last week was a unique experience for me as I went with the youth to Student Life Camp in Orange Beach, Alabama. It has been years since I was a part of a youth camp. Fran and I, along with Donna Bush, were the cooks for the week. Wow, with forty-two youth and leaders there was a lot of food put away. The great report from camp was that three of the students from Smith County accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, one of the leaders surrendered to God’s call into ministry, and several other rededication and reconciliation decisions were made. It was a great week and a “mountain-top” experience, even if it was on the beach. If you haven’t seen the parent videos from Zeke, check them out with these links:

Please pray for the youth in our church and community. Pray for those who made these life-changing decisions. Pray for Zeke and all our youth leaders. These are exciting days at FBC Carthage.
Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim
