FBC Carthage E-News
August 2, 2010
Good morning,
It is hard to believe that summer vacation is over and another year of school has begun. Smith County students began their new year in school today. Let’s remember to pray for the students, parents, teachers, administrators, and all the workers during this school year.
This is going to be an exciting week as we welcome the Power Team to Smith County for a county-wide crusade. The services will be Wednesday through Sunday, August 4-8 at 7:00 PM each evening at the Ag Center. There will be awesome feats of strength and power. The main message will be the power of Jesus Christ to transform lives. This is one week you will want to be at the services every night. This will also be an event you will want to invite your family, friends, and neighbors to attend. Remember to post an invitation on your Facebook page. You can link to the Power Team website and videos at www.thepowerteam.com.
The Power Team will also be in all but one of our public schools this week sharing a message of encouragement and motivation to the students. They won’t be preaching Jesus in the schools but they will have a positive message for the students as well as an invitation for them to the evening services at the Ag Center. The Power Team website has information on their school assembly programs at www.powerteamschools.com. Pray for these school assemblies to be powerful.
We are still in need of help with the Power Team Crusade. You can help as an usher, a greeter, with set-up and/or clean-up. We need people to help with the Power Team’s product table and with decision time. There will be a volunteer meeting this Tuesday, August 3 at 7:00 PM at our church in the Sanctuary. The helpers with the decision time will meet prior to the services each night at 6:30 PM at the Ag Center.
This week is also an exciting week as we celebrate the wedding of Brooke Tackett and Brian Wyatt. Their open wedding will be this Saturday, August 7 at 4:00 PM in the Sanctuary. Let’s pray for Brian and Brooke and their families as they prepare for this special day.
One last word before the news, “Thank you.” Thank you to all who helped in the FBC Carthage booth at the Smith County Fair. We had over fifty people who volunteered their time and energy to share a cup of cold water, a balloon dog, and a face painting in Jesus’ name.
Thank you, also to Melody Tackett and everyone who helped with the Smith County Teachers’ Luncheon last Wednesday. Talk about energy and power. There were 180 teachers and administrators in the CLC for lunch and it was exciting. Our teachers are a blessing to this county. Remember to pray for them during this school year and especially during this first week of classes.
Have a great week and I will see you at the Ag Center,
Bro. Tim
