FBC Carthage E-News
April 19, 2010

Good morning,

I am still rejoicing over the great day we had yesterday at FBC Carthage. It was exciting to have decisions made at the end of both of the morning services. I praise the Lord for the opportunity to see Him work in the lives of people. Please pray for these who made public decisions:

Rachel Slagle
Linda Slagle
Ruth Ann Toffelmire
Tommy Bane
Deborah Bane
Tommy Lee Bane

With the kids back in school today after a beautiful Spring Break week, we know the end of the school year and graduations are coming quickly. To celebrate, FBC Carthage has a church-wide Graduate Recognition Luncheon scheduled on Sunday, May 2 at 12 Noon after the second service in the Family Life Center. This potluck luncheon is an opportunity to congratulate the graduates and enjoy a great meal together. Everyone is asked to bring covered dishes for the luncheon.

It is also time for our Spring Children’s Choir program which will be held this Sunday, April 25 at 5:30 PM in the Sanctuary. This is always a delightful service as the children lead us. There will be a time of refreshments after the service in the family Life Center and everyone is asked to bring finger foods.

The end of the school year also signals the end of another year of AWANAs. The celebration and awards night will be Sunday, May 2 after the 5:30 PM service. We will have the Evening Worship Service in the Sanctuary and then go down to the Family Life Center for the AWANA awards presentation. Thank you to all the workers in AWANA for your hard work and dedication to teaching the children the Word of God, the Bible. The next year of AWANA will begin in August.

Have a blessed week,
Bro. Tim

5. A special conference entitled “Protecting Your Church” will be held next Monday, April 26 at 6:30 PM at the New Middleton Baptist Church. This conference will deal with safety and security issues, especially in the area of preschool, children, and youth.

6. A great ministry on college and university campuses is the Baptist Collegiate Ministry, formerly know as the Baptist Student Union (BSU). I recently attended a meeting with John Aaron Matthew, the BCM Campus Minister for Tennessee Tech. I have posted their web site below for you to learn a little about the ministry on Tech’s campus. I encourage our college students to visit and be involved in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry on your campus. The BSU was a great blessing in my life during my college days at Tennessee Tech.
