FBC Carthage E-News
April 4, 2022
Easter Sunday is only two
weeks away as we anticipate the glorious celebration of our Savior’s
Resurrection from the dead! Jesus is
alive! The tomb is empty. We have hope!
Make plans to be at First Baptist Church on Easter Sunday, April 17 and
invite family and friends to join you.
This Sunday we will distribute Invite Cards for you to invite at least 5
people to church on Easter. We have a
message the world is longing to hear, “Jesus is alive!”
We are also looking toward
a special Good Friday Communion Service on Friday, April 15 at 6:00 PM. This special service will be a reflection on
the price Jesus paid for our sins on the cross.
Come as you are and remember what
the cross means to you and your faith.
Several churches in our
county are sharing each evening during Holy Week, April 11-16, on the steps of
the Historic Courthouse in downtown Carthage.
The services begin each evening at 6:30 PM and are open to the
community. Tuesday night is a special
focus on the youth of our community.
During these weeks leading
up to Easter Sunday, we are focusing on the work of the North American Missions
Board and receiving the Annie Armstrong Offering for North American
Missions. I encourage everyone to give a
special offering to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the cities of
the United States and Canada. We, as a
church, will give our very best offering,
the entire offering on Easter Sunday to North American Missions. We have been extremely blessed in this past
year and now we have the opportunity to give our very best and biggest
offerings for the Kingdom of God in the world.
More information on the North
American Mission Board and Annie Armstrong Offering can be found online at: https://www.anniearmstrong.com/week-of-prayer
YOUTH: The Wednesday Night Youth Group is meeting this
week and the leaders are looking for another exciting time together. All
students in the 6th – 12th grades are encouraged, urged,
and asked to be a part of this Grand Re-Start.
Invite your friends to come with you.
Reminder: Children’s Choir is meeting each Wednesday at
6:30 PM in the Choir Room on the 2nd floor of the Educational
Building. The Sanctuary Choir meets on
Wednesday nights at 7:30 PM in the Choir Room.
The Sanctuary Choir meets
each Wednesday at 7:30 PM in the Sanctuary as they prepare for leading in
worship each week. All adults, teens,
and older children are invited to be a part of the choir this week.
Speaking of Wednesday
Nights, we have our church-wide supper each week from 5:00-6:00 PM in the
Christian Life Center at the bottom of the hill behind the Sanctuary. This week the Men’s Cooking Team will have
baked chicken, green beans, corn, rolls, and desert. In addition to good food, these suppers give
a great opportunity to talk, visit, and get to know one another. Give it a try this week.
The April Church Business
Meeting will be Wednesday, April 13 @ 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary.
We will have several
special guests from the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville
on Sunday, April 10. One of the students
will give testimony in the service and an offering will be received to help pay
on their new ministry building. The
Women on Mission will host a Pasta Luncheon following the service with proceeds
going toward the BCM building fund. Lots
of pasta and toppings available. Eat in
or to-go’s will be available.
The Women on Missions will
be attending the Association Quarterly Meeting on Tuesday, April 12 at New
Middleton Baptist Church. The meeting
begin at 6:00 PM and transportation will be provided, leaving at 5:30 PM.

resolve and peace to come. Pray for

hopeless world.
